    I Salute Comrade Gurkha's!

  • opos leme paok pantou etsi kai ellada pantou... hellas ole

  • Three people dont know anything about Gurkhas.

  • Garud Ka Hun Bol Pyare

  • I feel so proud as a Greek when such great soldiers (and musicians !) as the Gurkhas choose to perform a Greek song ("Zorba the Greek" by Theodorakis).

I never met any Gurkha, but after training (just for a couple of weeks) with the British royal marines, i know that if they say that Gurkhas are great, then they must truly be.

After reading the comments so far, it is clear that the British people honour them so much, and that is so great.

Αντε ... μακαρι συρτακι και απο τους Τσολιαδες μας !

  • they are amazing. proud yet well disciplined. they were posted to protect hong kong before the handover of the british colony to china...

  • Didn't know the Gurkhas, yet I now learn about them through the comments I' ve read in here... They must be a proud and honorable race, no wonder why they like the music of another proud and honorable race, the Greeks !

  • Ah, the Gurkhas... I've a story about them... I met one walking down the street, and I see his Kukri on his belt... Admiring it, I ask to see it... He showed it to me with a smile, cut his hand, and put it back into the sheath... I asked him "Why'd you do that?!" THEIR POLICY: They can NOT put their blade away without first drawing blood. Be it theirs, or the Enemy's. THESE GUYS ARE DEDICATED. From then, on... we have been the best of friends. I am a retired Army 1SG. Been in bands since Carter

  • @firefly361 we all know that a taliban commander was beheade by a gurkha. we all know that a gurkha took on 30 talibans by himself. we all know that a lone gurkha killed 4 indian train robbers and chased away the remaining 40 dacoits. now watch this video and see gurkha bruce lee doing his "everybody's kungfu fighting" and emerging as Asian champion.

  • Yea they're awsome lot. see their Kukri Knifes, they arent allowed to sheath them without drawing blood on the blade first if u see a Gurkahs arms and hands you will see lots of scars from the blade from when they where just training to use them. Of course if there's a brit soilder tieing his shoelaces or somthing nearmy they will prob his arse with the blade to draw blood as a joke. (seen it happen lol)

But yea They're insanely talented troops & great guys to get along with & drinking with!

The Mongoloid people of the Himalayas are better known as KIRAT. Kiratas have been living in the Himalayas region including Nepal and northeastern states of India namely Assam, Manipur, Nagaland etc for past 10,000 years according to Neolithic tools discovered in this region.

watch this short documentary --> " Kiratas:the Himalayas Race "

  • They are more British than the British

Such honourable men - sometimes I reckon we aren't worthy of such loyal men - especially how our politicians treat them like shit.

We are supposed to be on the same side

  • The Brigade of Gurkhas - The Brigade of Legends. I'm sorry but they can ignore me and put me down if they wanted to, but they are pure LEGENDS!

  • If the Argies wish to fight for the Falkland Islands AGAIN, come and fight, fight the British and the Gurkhas again, see where it will get you.

  • We were all part of the British empire at some point. These warriors rock. Ur French-made jets don't stand a chance. I must say, you do have a proud heritage of Barbeque that Britain does not have. Being near Kansas City, & having a Smoker, I can say we probably have something in common, so pass on the politicking & let's eat BBQ & Drink beer together!

  • @asmoody Sounds good to me......

  • My Father was with the Gurkhas in the war. He had nothing but good things to say about them.

  • Gurkhas are the best fair play :D

  • Sorry Helmut, I think Joanna Lumley 'jumped on the band wagon' to get publicity. The Gurkhas have been part of the British military for a few hundred years. After many years fighting them, they and the Brits realised neither would ever win. So they 'signed up' to fight with the Brits and have done ever since..What we should all remember is that those in Government (of whatever Party) never give a flying fig about any Serviceman. Northern Ireland! Falklands! Iraq!Afghanistan! Need I say more?

  • @PLASTERM66 Hey ..fucktard...I'm From the US..not the UK....God,I don't know what's scarier....that plasterm66 has internet access...or that there are a whole country full of these sort of ill-informed,un-educated morons....

Gurkhas are not killers and murderers they are solder who is striving to survive in this cruel world where rich and powerful people and country dominates the poor one.

  • jjj

  • @PLASTERM66 hey stupid...you lost...get over it....hell you couldn't even beat your neighbor chile.....as for you killing "hundreds".....MENTIROSO!!!!.....as shitty as the argentine army is ya'll were lucky to kill the couple of hundred that you did....and took over 2000 dead and wounded yourselves...real good tactics there...lol....

what a nation of retards that argentines are....fighting for islands that are as UK as their northern namesakes.....idiots

  • @savoy69 Hey British fag, ...you without te help of your owner U S A. you could not won the war, like the WW2, because the UK alone is equal a nothing , or better said, you are only pirates and bandits, like the "war of te opium " in China, where the UK were the opium traficante .

  • @savoy69 ... You dirty british, thieves and fag, that send the poors mercenarys gourkhas at the front line in the war...the world is better without the fag british. And Malvinas/Falklands are ARGENTINES ,you savoy69 son of the bitch...

  • @PLASTERM66 Malvinas and the Falklands, you want to do the war again?. we rape you harder then 82

  • @suothparkfan Malvinas/Falklands are Argentinian, like Terranova is Canadian. We will fight ever for this, like you fight if terranova is stolen by the british pirates, that sent at the mercenary gourkas to fight in his name.

  • @PLASTERM66 falklands are british long live the gurkhas

  • @leady73 MALVINAS/falklands were stolen by the britain

  • @PLASTERM66 history ...go and lern it

  • @PLASTERM66 Rule Britannia!!!!!

  • @rLamaTamu @rLamaTamu Look, poor and imbecile gurkha, I'm Argentine and I killed hundreds of idiots and poors gurkas in the Falklands war,in defense of the argentine flag,mi country, in '82, against the british pirates,

  • @PLASTERM66 hahahahahaha, all i can say to you is two little words,

    who won????

  • @rLamaTamu ... do yo have country?,Flag?, no, you are an inhuman mercenary and at last I understand why poor people like you, was sended at the front line in the war,: because you, poor gourkha do not cost nothing, you do not exist , one dog is most important than the gurkhas....ha ha, angry? See you in the next war, poor shit. Hasta la vista baby! ....and I have some pounds for you

  • Comment removed

  • @PLASTERM66 dude u sound like a bastard born to a argie whore fukced by a gorkha......dude say all thes in front of a gorkha and see wat happens....

  • @PLASTERM66 : Friend, i am a indian and have the utmost regard for gorkha soldiers. They are the best down to earth people with great humility. i have seen it with my own eyes. they are also the best soldiers on earth. ayo re gorkhalii...

  • @vmundi Ok. You must know at the Gauchos, they are better than the gorkas, because they fight for his nation, and not for other, like the gorkas. Then, they (gorkas) seem not have flag and patriotism. They works by money, like the murderers gangsters.

  • @PLASTERM66 go back and learn some english and then post.

  • @PLASTERM66 u need to open ur eyes shit ok i think u r un educated well

  • @vmundi have you ever met any ?

  • @MrJimmyboy1972 and the gurkhas are very poor mercenar without flag , nation and fathers, good english invention .

  • @PLASTERM66 please dont refer to me as english, i am a scotsman and proud of it.

  • @MrJimmyboy1972 the only bandit country is the U:K: and his partner USA

  • @PLASTERM66 the gurkhas volunteer to serve in the british army, they are not conscripted. the competition for places is intense because they cant earn as much or achieve the same standards (unfortunately) in their own country. their families have the same standards of living, health care and education as everyone else in britain. and that aint bad. we are benevolent not bandits.

  • @MrJimmyboy1972 MrJimmy, you can not be benevolent if you creates killers with no soul, flag, and own nation, you pay they for kill in your name. You can't are benevolent with the human race in this way . Gurkhas is a diabolic invention of britains, like the monster of Frankenstein or Terminator.

  • ☆☆☆☆☆

  • i couldve had them on my pass out gutted that i left

  • they can kill and play good music too!!! GO GURKHAS!!

  • They are the best of the best.

    Carry on Gurkha/Nepali Brothers

  • I invite everyone to find out more about the Gurkhas, undoubtedly among the best warriors in history.

It's a shame how they were sold out by an uncaring, treacherous British government they trusted and bled for.

  • thanks to Joanna Lumley they are starting to get the recognition they so deserve. The are regarded as national heroes but the scumbags in the Commons don't care.

  • Actually, they play this specifically for Phil the Greek.... no kidding...

  • OUTSTANDING !!

    Regards from New York.

    TK

  • It was a good day for Britain when we decided that the Gurkha's would make good mercenaries.

Now they are no mercenaries but an indispensable part of the British army, they have fought with us through thick and thin for nigh on 200 years and without them our army would be virtually lost.

They can play a good tune too!

  • Long Live The GURKHAS

  • had they sold out to the british too ?

  • that was quite impressive! way to go gurkhas!!

  • muy bueno

  • Ayo Gurkhali!

  • Superbe!

Jay Gorkha, Jai Bharat, Jai Nepal

  • @jbinvestcap

Pardon, c'est Jai Gorkha. Mea culpa.

  • What precision, what discipline??

No wonder that they are indispensible to the British Army!

  • @giveahoot1 and the Indian Army as well

  • If a man says he is not afraid of dying, then either he is lying or he is a gorkha.

  • @bhupidhillon no he is a gonner! sorry!

  • @bhupidhillon

    Gurka* :-)

  • these guys played our passing out parade, and were fantastic

  • right now, If I am not wrong there are only two gurkha regiment. One is Indian gurkha regiment and one is with UK.

  • The British Army has a Brigade of Gurkhas, which consists of a single 2 battalion Infantry regiment, the Royal Gurkha Rifles, as well as the Queen's Gurkha Engineers, the Queen's Gurkha Signals, the Queen's Gurkha Logistic regiment and various training and demonstration companies.

India has seven, five battalion strong regiments of Gorkhas, with a total strength of about 120,000.

Singapore also recruits a Gurkha contingent for the Singapore Police Force.

  • They look very scary guarding the American Country Club with their slouch hats and shotguns.

  • Or to use British Army slang, "ally".

There's a fair few ex-Gurkha's around where I live, especially in Farnborough (which is next to Sandhurst) who all seem to either run a "Gurkha Taxi Company" or a "Gurkha Security Service" - oh and I shouldn't forget restaurants.

It's hard to think that these happy little people can be so terrifying.

  • Comment removed

  • But of course, who would do such a thing? - they're so friendly! Then of course there's that whole "fearsome reputation" thing.

  • Comment removed

  • They do have a great sense of duty. Like I said, there are a few Gurkha taxi firms around here, which my grandmother appreciates as they will always walk a lady back to her door at night.

I'm off to sandbags next year and I've always had my eyes set on the Grenadier Guards but I'm finding myself more and more compelled to seek a commision with the RGR.

  • Comment removed

  • your are wrong mate ..the indian army has 10 gorkha regiments with 42000 men

  • Really do not think so. 1GR and 10 GR may be part of Indian Army, don't assume that the in-between numbered regiments are also part of the Indian Army :). If I understand correctly old units like 2GR, 7 GR were part of the British Army after 1947.

  • God knows where I got a number that high from but still, didn't the British-Indian Army have 10 regiments of Gurkha's and India, upon independence, received six (the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th and 9th and have since then raised another, the 11th) and the British four (the 2nd, 6th, 7th and 10th, who have been amalgamated)?

  • Comment removed

  • That never crossed my mind but of course it's a perfectly legitimate option. Operation March Hare.

  • FABULOUS! Thank you.

  • these guys are supposed to be hard asses. they served the queen for years and were not allowed to reside in the uk...until gorgeous and wonderful joanne lumley kicked the politicians asses ..Yeah baby!
