I imagine it takes a greater appreciation for the reality and necessity of luxury goods and services than I have to understand why a person would pay 7 grand to have their car detailed. So I try to put it in perspective; there are people who travel in 60 million dollar jets, who own cars that cost hundreds of thousands but that they might only drive 200 km per year, who wouldn't bat an eye at the price of this service.

Detailer is the word pinched from the U.S by the U.K which allows a valeter to feel important and charge what ever they want to clean a car.
