The timeline between 1234 is only really half knwn such as 1 and 3 are linked and obviously in the orde rof 1 and 3 first then 2 and 4 are linked for various reasons but the most obvious being a newspaper article that states Walter SUllivan and the killing of the children victims this was obviously before 4.

One thing I have to admit, is that characters aren't as appealing or well developed as they were in the previous games... The textures they use on characters aren't the best and they lack in realism. For example, the characters in both SH3 and SH4 had amazing designs and details. I don't know, the characters look kinda cheap in this game. They put way too much thought on the surroundings than the objectives.

Anyway, hope this will be a fun game and not a movie ripoff.

Im not totally agree with you, I think you're right about the SH3 & 4 Graphics and characters textures, but I think the textures here looks quite good, also you've to notice that with the next generation consoles engines we will be playing with rendered images ( the ones that in old games appear only in the animations movies but not at the time of play ) also I think we have to notice that the facial and general animations have improved a lot, as the lighting and the enviorment.

True, since this is a next gen game. But the facial textures and expressions seem kinda off to me, like the kind of games where the developers took ready faces from real people and pasted them on the character. I don't know maybe it's just me, maybe it'll seem better once I'll get to play the game myself. But yeah... In the previous SHs the creators said so themselves that didn't want to rely on facial motion capture engines, thus the characters would look a lot more appealing. Ah well...

Silent Hill Homecoming is going to be the best in the series...I bet all of you...just wait!I mean, hell, the scenes are just like watching a freakin' movie. I love all the Silent Hill games but, this new one makes all the previous ones look crappy. I hope they remake 1,2,3, and 4 for the PS3 and put better scenes and more depth and action, and characters in them so they'll also be like watching a movie.

Oh i hope this will be decent. I agrree that changes are necesary in order to keep the franchise allive , not only alive but more "playable " for all. Many people give up yust because of being incapable finding way throught fog on SH streets. And combat craved for changes!I love everything SH , so I hope I'll love this one too , even if I'll have to bye PS3 only because of this game. :) ;)

that could be a Manifestation of Joshua (Alex's brother) created by Alex's Mind. I bet that in the end,Alex has to kill Joshua in self defense, but then Alex finds out Joshua was killed before the entire ideal(through no fault of his own), and the person he was seeing was just created by his subconcious mind to cope with the loss of Joshua. I think that would make the most sense since his mind is screwed up from the war.

This trailer is sweet. It looks like this game will be a blast. I'm a fan of the Silent Hill series, but I'm glad the combat is being improved. So long as they keep the twisted story, creepy atmosphire, and difficult puzzles, it's still going to be Silent Hill to me.

The voice acting is looking superb, the madness is looking to shape up so that we will truely have a scary game. Plus, there is a sleuth of characters to flesh out the story which all seem to have something to them so that they aren't exactly trash.

He is James torturer, yes, but born from the town. I remember reading somewhere that his guilt took that particular form because James was inspired by the history of the town in which PH (or something resembling him) acts as an executioner.

I read that Pyramid Head was meant to resemble a guy called Jimmy Stone from The Valetial Sect of the Cult Of Silent Hill, who used to wear a red pointed hood during rituals, which is probably why Pyramid Head looks the way he does, if James was influenced by the history of the town.
