  • went by a couple of weeks ago. Wife was at the convention center in hickory for a spa conference and driving around i found there i guess old shop and they still had some cars in there and there was a for sale sign on the building.

  • May i ask what the WINE noise is? you can hear it barely and for a short period of time. its always in 3rd/4th gear for a split second.

  • Nah. GSR is most commonly used turbo block. all B18s are. never seen a drag H22 pushing over 600whp.

  • The Blueridge car was an LS/VTEC, right now it runs a deckplate B16 block so they can run LS crank/rods.

    Turbo H22 have oiling issues if the bottom end isn't correctly assembled; they break oil pump and strip out mains. They are more forgiving when NA. The F/H series transmisions are very fragile, and that's why they aren't drag friendly.

  • As a side note, f22's hold more boost than h22's with stock internals.. and don't quite have the same oiling issues. i will agree with you that hey arn't the strongest trannys...

  • You'd be mistaken :O f22b1 compression ratio is 8.8:1 as compared to the h22's 10.0:1 ratio.. besides that the cylinder walls are thicker, and the head of the sohc is far more bullet proof than the head the dohc h22 has....thus the f22 will withsand more boost under sock engine internals....i happen to have a f22b1 in a 1997 Honda Accord Coupe EX

  • Compression ratio dictates VE and knock limit, not power handling. However the extra 2mm of bore the H22 has makes for an engine that makes more power off of less cylinder pressure.

    Thicker has nothing to do with anything when comparing a FRM liner to a tradional floating liner. Since all these engine shit main bearings and rarely crack sleeves I'd say your sleeve argument is invalid.

    H22 heads fail?

    Piston-wall and ring end gap + strength of the piston/rod are the criteria you should use.
