  • This is the best play of all! I love the slow-mo here. Its unbelievable

  • Aha who the fuck is Lebron again ?? ohh yeah the King with no Ring ;)

  • Hmmmm I feel like Michael Jordan did that once...

  • @JMorris2223 nope not even close kobe was better and more difficult

  • He actually did this without traveling. *Looks at Lebron*

  • This is the difference between LeBron and Kobe. LeBron is a great athlete and he can muscle and run his way to the basket and score, but kobe, he is more technical.

  • mother fucker jumped off his right foot too

  • well obviously it was a sure win for lakers every knew tht. refs rigged tht game magics vs celtics dissapointing T.T

  • lebron cant do that.. lebron is a ballhog

  • TRAVEL!

  • at first you think kobe has a free layupppp den Da fuck dwight just comes out of no where and ingulphs the rim and the chances of scoring a layup at this point is reduced by 55.6%

  • @PlaidSoxs Uh... no. He scored, as you can see.

  • seems that there are 15 people who does not know how to play basketball...

  • who the fuck disliked that he did that against a damn monster and made it

  • How did the Magic even make the Finals. It was like Men (Lakers) vs Boys (Magic).

  • MAN I DON'T Found This Play In My Video Game. Doesn't Exist!!! Only Kobe The Real Video Game can do This Play!!

  • What the fuck? The dude took a good 4 seconds in the air, that shit is hard.

  • @lmaostrnoob if it was 4 seconds the shot clock wouldve went off

  • @lmaostrnoob probably in slowmotion.

  • thats not to say that what one of them is better at, the other ones a piece of shit, know what i mean? theyre obviously both phenomenal players

  • im not saying kobe isnt any of that, clearly he has been for pretty much his entire career. but to say that kobe is on the same level as lebron is as far as passing, court vision, all that playmaker stuff, that is not true. lebron is, always has been, and always will be a better playmaker than kobe. and thats fine because the lakers dont need kobe to pass, they need him to score and lock down on D. lebrons a much better rebounder and passer, kobes a little better shooter and defender

  • @TheMattyT don't forget post player (offense and defense), free throw shooter, and off-the-ball player (both offense and defense)

  • @kb24lyfe lebron would score 30 and drop 8 or 9 dimes, kobe will score 35 or 40 and have 2 assists. thats why he was considered more of a ballhog...also, this coming back to kobe having teammates, it seemed like he was ballhoggin sometimes cuz he had teammates who could be very reliable options to score as well. Lebron was clevelands everything, playmaker, scorer, rebounder, lockdown defender, all that stuff

  • @TheMattyT why the fuck do you come on a Kobe highlight play to say Lebrons stats are better? get the fuck out of here with your bullshit, yeah let Lebron get his stats while kobe gets his rings.

  • wait, i realized that it wasn't a switch at all. he faked to the right, move to the left but still released with the right hand. not a switch, but still a great move

  • how can you hate on this he hung in the air so longer and it was contested

  • Jordan did these in Lakers vs Chicago

  • when he was in the same situation as lebron in cleveland, where the front office does nothing to help out their superstar. except LA came through for kobe, and cleveland did nothing for lebron. the best they could come up with was...a decrepit, washed up 89 year old shaquille oneal

  • your right, he did. let me ask this though, if kobe was traded for lebron when he was with the cavs, so kobe played for cleveland and bron for LA, the lakers would still have been awesome, as they are right now. even with lebron taking game winners. kobe carries the majority of the load while everyone else on LA is competent enough to carry their own weight. Lebron threw everyone in cleveland on his back and carried ALL by himself. and if you recall, kobe demanded a trade a few years ago

  • First off, id say my team is in pretty good shape if I have Lebron taking game winning shots for me. and secondly by finisher i meant at the rim, as i said in the second comment. kobe is probably the best clutch player, yes, but that doesnt mean that nobody else is good in crunch time either.

  • finisher *at the rim* i should say

  • Michael jordan.. Wait whos kobe bryant?

  • he isnt switching he is faking in air.. go search jordon with switching hands thats real switching..

  • He's made dwight look silly on quite a few plays

  • It looks like Dwight Howard try to catch a butterfly :P

  • Dwight looked stupid on that play.

  • dang..split the double team

ability to hang in the air

fast reflexes to switch the shot

who can do that right now?

    KOBE!

  • Doesn't even look like a switch to me. Looked more like a jumpshot. It was more like a volleyball drop from the right hand to the left hand with only 3 inches of space in between both hands. Jordan's Switch has way more distance in between hands and is more aesthetically beautiful to watch because of his large hands. Kobe has very small girly hands.

  • @c0ldb00t Ofcourse it was beautiful to watch. It was UNcontested.. lol

  • U know u guys who are now actualy comparing MJ to Kobe, u should really be mad at urselfs since u get always so mad when some guys compare Kobe to MJ on youtube vids of MJ highlights. I bet that most of u really just like the debate, but u just say it's a tragedy that people compare them, then why in the hell are u comparing MJ to Kobe?!? If u guys say u wanna end the debate then u should do ur part and stop making comprassions urself.

  • Kobe plays awesome defense

  • its ok, u don't have to take this loss personally, nobody can win them all

  • fucking jordan fans always belittling kobes achievements! fuck off!

  • MJ's move was pointless? Kobe used the fake to the right, then Howard bit on the move, then Kobe moved to the left. If anything, MJ's move was more instinctual, as erroneous as the move essentially was. MJ had more hang time, had full extension of the rt arm while palming the ball, switched hands, and layed it up left handed, as his head was under the backboard.

  • what are you talking about, in MJs play, nobody even jumped to try to block the shot lol

  • ur right lol

  • ummm I know I late on this but... MJ's play was kinda dumb.... there was no traffice.... he should have gone and dunked it..... Oh & he celebrated his move like he planned it lol

Oh & Kobes move up there on the video.... was better because it was being contested.... on false move and Dwight would hav smacked the shit out of it.... but he's jus that good... thank u! :) Not say MJ is better or Kobe is better... Jus sayin that move Kobe made... it made more sense lol

  • Well at the time MJ thought it was going to be contested but it wasn't, thats why he switched, he didn't plan it at all.

  • @Anaxagoran Regardless.. he's switch hands was much easier.. i don't even think Mj can do what kobe did.. but the switch hands can be copied by anybody. Although it would not be an original anymore. haha

  • @2IAN4 are you insane? you're dissing the best player ever. MJ's switch hands IS much better than Kobe's. anybody beg to differ?

also, uncontested? have your eyes checked, it is what you call anticipation.

  • @chris03ization when that "anticipation" went unfulfilled, it became unnecessary. the physics in that situation dictates that there is no way in hell that sam perkins could have come up in time to block that layup. sam perkins lacked the athleticism and body control to make that play without fouling mj, which would've like resulted in an And 1.

  • yok ebayın amı

  • Basketball at it's finest! Kobe Bryant has all the intagables that you look for in a player. Smooth, graceful, instinctual, and cunning with an effortless shot and killer competiveness! John Starks and Kobe Bryant are my all time favorites. Never underestimate the power of will and heart!

  • dude this reminds me of JORDAN'S layup in the finals

but kobe's was a shot it. It gave me a feeling that Its a whole new ERA .....

  • You can't even do this in a video game.

  • KOBE IS GOAT lol... goat xD

  • jab step

    split the double team

    go up with the right

bring it back to the left shoulder

    put it back up

    kiss it off the glass.

all that over the 'defensive player of the year'

  • well said. well fuckin said, sir.

  • Ya cruzz. Ur right on the dot homie

  • Danny Cruzz is correct !

  • Im willing to bet a million dollars that if JORDAN would of done this everyone would of been all over his dick and saying no 1 is better but kobe does this every game

  • I would bet the same.

  • thats a fact right there i totally agree with you, people would be using this shot against kobe

  • can somebody pleez tell mr why kobe is so fuckin good?

  • jordans layup is the most overated shot in nba history i watched that game a few days ago on nba tv classics and it looked as any other shot i see. Jordan started running behind the 3, had a running jump and no one challenged him. This kobe shot was like a sideway fadeaway double clutch lob I think this is the toughest shot the nba has ever seen howards a fucking beast.

  • splits through the double team, switches hands in midair, making the contested shot over the leagues best shot blocker.

    lebron who?

  • @XBladeWingX Lebron would have dunked it

  • @TheMattyT no lebron would have given up half way through

  • @kurtcohendrix123 given up halfway through? what u mean? lebron drives and dunks/layup or he dishes it for an assist. whether thats because his slashing skills are so much better than his shooting, i cant really say. But lebron is a MUCH better finisher than Kobe. and Kobes a much better shooter than lebron

  • @TheMattyT what i mean giving up half way is when he gave up against Boston half way through plus how is he a better finisher? Lebron is not great in clutch situations

  • @TheMattyT he can dunk all he wants...thing is he lost to howard and the magic. so again. who is this lebron?

  • @XBladeWingX lebron blocks dwight and goes coast to coast for the and 1 lay up

    32 year old man who?

  • @roflroflhoghoghoglol that was in a cleveland vs orlando game in the 09-10 season just in case you were wondering

  • @XBladeWingX Get off his dick.

  • i say this was way better than jordan's shot when he switched it to his other hand

  • it is becuase that jordan shot is overplayed, no one was challenging him when he did that, however dwight was all in kobe's grill and kobe still got it off!

  • KOBE>MJ>LJ

  • booo mj>kobe>whos lj?

  • ROFL... who's lj? hahha thats a good one

  • lebron james u dim-witted idiot...who'd you think it was Lyndon Johnson?

  • i know its lebron james u fool, read the entire comments someone wrote "who's lj" you retard!

  • @dzeicee

ah so you were commenting on someone else's retarded comment sorry bout that...redirect my insult to the person you were making fun of...

Also it was just a comment, no need to get all emo on me in the pm...chill butterball

  • hahahah sorry.. i was j/k.. i forgot to type "lol"

  • MJ>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kobe/LJ/WADE

  • KOBE-MVP and on the cover of 2k10

  • I don't think I can even dream of making that shot

  • Kobe Bryant is the most skilled basketball player to ever walk the Earth.

  • I agree, but until he gets his 6th he wont be "better" than MJ.

  • what the hell ? do you mean that if kobe got his 7th ring he is better than MJ ? i absolutely disagree with you .

  • I already feel that he has more skill than MJ... MJ has just proven to be a better winner. So, until Kobe gets at least his 6th he cannot be considered the GOAT.

  • i agree. people dont watch the footwork and effort put into every shot they take and every move they perform. kobe has the beter skill like you mentioned and yes jordan is a better winner more successful with the stat sheet. the one thing jordan will have over kobe on the court is his iq, jordan was the smartest to play. but kobe is beter skilled

  • thats not a circus shot thats nothing but skillz

  • thats gonna be a "where amazing happens" playoff commercial in a few years...

  • yeah, on the playstation.

  • ur right RIP,D wade, VC, and Tmac cud hit that shot just not on dwight howard....to many people hate on kobe rip shudnt be mentioned in the same sentence as kobe as well as tmac and vince carter d wade is alright but he will never be anywhere near kobes level

  • WOW

  • kobe is better than mj

  • ppl who thumbed up this guys comment are morons

lord have mercy on these folks

  • you my friend are a dumbass that said RIP,D wade, VC, and Tmac could hit that shot. Tmac shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breathe as dwade or kobe....he hasn't really been that good since he left orlando.

  • Wade maybe, but the rest nope.

  • Yeah, then why D-Wade, Vince, T-Mac, and Rick Hamilton hasn't done it yet. Oh yeah, they didn't make it to the finals.

Plus, those guyz can't stop Kobe.

  • Awesome move, in traffic switching hands and still score.

  • i remember watchin that game, insane ....

  • MJ is still better then kobe

  • nah

  • Hes maybe not the best ever...but Kobe is definetly the most skilled player ever. :)

  • Thank you.Jordan didn't have Kobe's skills but he had a better shot selection and his huge hands gave him a better touch. But to me hte most skilled player ever to play the game was Pete Maravich. He was a magician with the ball.

  • That shot was better than MJ's

  • this shot was definitely better than jordans switching hands shot. kobe actually had to like maneuver around both hands of Dwight Howard.. where as jordans was like pointless. prolly just for sho haha.

  • watch how stan van gundy sits down in disbelief

  • this shot was better than jordans switching hands....and if u dont agree with me then thats all rite cuz if u actually saw that game/clip u would notice that he couldve just dunked that...but jordan is better than kobe...just saying the shot so i hope no one replys to me with some shit to say to me

  • Any of u young fuckers say kobe is better than jordan dont know shit, jordan was a movement, and if u r old enough and u say that kobe bryant is better ur just a laker fan and ur hatin on the greatest micheal fuckin jordan

  • or maybe they just have a different opinion than you.

  • How does Jordan's balls taste?

  • KOBE>LEBRON

  • WOW!!!

the goat!!!! has an amazing HANG time over the shotblocker Dwight Howard..

    Lebron can't do this!!!

  • good point there i mean juz cuz mj started all dat shit doesnt mean hes the greatest wat if kobe started all dis shit well i think they're both great players and i think brandon roy will be the next air apparent

  • KOBE IS THE GREATEST PERIOD

  • Jordan has no comparison. He is the KING of basketball. Kobe is just a Knight, the best knight of his time

  • kobe is the prince jordan is still the king though

  • I'm a huge Kobe fan, cuz his moves (especially this one)are Jordanesque. Kobe manages to drop daggers on his opponents and close them out almost every single game. Incredible. But you're right MJ will always be the King. Kobe the Prince I guess. Either way, both dudes are and will always be the best.

  • BS. in your mind there's nothing anyone can do to become better then jordan, so obviously we're not talking about the goat here. we're just talking about who you like more

  • kobe is just nasty man i swear!

    kobe is da best eva!!!!!!!!!

  • howard was here like godzilla xD

  • courtney lee is good but he need to improve defence

  • jordan is the goat rite now but i wanna ask if kobe wins 2 more chips will everyone be running around saying kobes the best the game has seen

  • I hate stupid comments by jordan fans. Kobe is clearly better whether thats because the game has developed or w.e i dunt care, if they were to go one on one, jordan wudnt stand a chance, dats in prime vs prime not now. Jordan could never do some of the things kobe is doing and you all know it. So get off mj's dick and accept the fact that someone is better.

  • you wuld say that "kobe for life"

  • you're so silly... arenas scored 45 of those 60 on smush parker... by the time kobe switched to him he had 5 fouls and couldn't play hard defense. learn to know the story behind the game before you speak mindless babble. btw jordan was getting lit up in the 93 finals by kj and tony dumas lmao... yeah go ahead and pretend you even know who he is.

  • learn to know the story?! mindless babble?! stop making up imaginary numbers, kobe couldnt play hard defense yet kobe was the one fouling Arenas, even got a 3pt play on kobe, i think u need to do that before u tell someone else that. KJ only got over 20 pts twice in that series, other than that, he sucked thanks to MJ and the Bulls defense. and i dont have to pretend because i have no idea who tony dumas is LOL.

  • MJ got a lot of points scored on him also... and this was when MJ was allowed to handcheck, so don't say that his defense was much better.

  • MJ's defense was better enough to get Defensive Player of the Year and lead the league in steals 3 times, when has kobe done that?

  • Chris paul is getting a lot of steals now, and so did Iverson when he was younger , but you're not gonna say they're elite defenders roflz.

defensive player of the year is a popularity contest like Mvps. Jordan got torched often as well. he played good defense, so does Kobe, but good one on one defense doesn't stop good isolation offense.

PLUS jordan was allowed to handcheck so...

  • LOL, its not a mere popularity contest, its leading the league in steals and having the most blocks for a guard while being one of the best one on one defenders in the league that got MJ the Defensive Player of the Year. of course MJ was allowed to handcheck, his era was more physical than todays era which made it harder to score unlike today's era, so whats your point. its having the top stats, how u help your team and intimidate your opposing team that speaks for your game, not popularity lol

  • It's a popularity contest.

Good defense is almost never represented with "good stats."

    ESPECIALLY for a guard.

Iverson used to average a lot of steals a game also, does that mean that he was a good perimeter defender?

DPOY, like MVP, all-star voting, all nba team, and all of that garbage is just popularity contests. The most deserving players do sometimes get these awards, but not necessarily.

my point with handchecking is that you can play closer defense on perimeter

  • thats the difference, Iverson is not MJ. MJ wasn't the player to fail terribly on defense while leading the league in steals and having alot of blocks for a guard. other than Gary Payton, MJ is one of the greatest perimeter guards of all time. if all that garbage is just a popularity contest, MJ would have more than 5 regular season MVPs lol. statistically speaking, MJ had Iverson's steals, kobe's points, Wade's blocks, scoring titles, MVPs, and rings for whole multiple seasons at a time.

  • fanboy detected. This conversation is over I guess.

  • with handchecking on perimeter defenders can play closer defense without having a blocking foul called on them as much, which allows for them to get more steal and block opportunities, but overall, steal and blocks aren't even all that solid as defensive stats, because it is possible to get a lot of both while failing terribly on defense (eg. steals: iverson, chris paul, wade a few years ago when he averaged a lot of steals, for blocks blocks: camby when he won dpoy, and right now dampier...)

  • Bottom line, steals and blocks != defense, they're. There's very little if any evidence to Jordan being a much better defender than Kobe.

And there's a good reason for that, neither of them are as good defensively as they are hyped up to be. They both are/were very athletic, understand the game very well, and work well under pressure, so occasionally they both came through with clutch steals or blocks, and because of that people assume they're great on defense.

  • MJ is still the GOAT. No disrespect to Kobe he is a hell of a talent, but Jordan's impact on the game is far greater than any championship rings and individual awards. He changed the way basketball is played nowadays. It used to be draft a dominant center and you win a championship. Jordan changed all of that thinking. Its a guards league in the NBA nowadays which is why there are very few dominant centers left in the league today.

  • you got a really good point.. but put it this way.. if Kobe would of played before Jordan .. would we all still say Jordan is the greatest ever?.. i give Jordan all the credit he deserves but just because he started something doesn't mean no one could ever surpass him... just like in a few years... (hopefully not) Lebron will surpass Kobe as the best player.. Jordan is the past.. Kobe is the present and Lebron is the future.

  • holy goddam

  • if only marv albert and bill walton was commentating

  • according to jordan, he thought whoever was down low was going to go up for the block. so he decided before he took off the was gonna do that ball fake. as it turned out, nobody even jumped. so he wasn't just "trying to be cool"

  • he shows dwight the ball, then he pulls back and makes an amazing shot,

    kobe.

  • I agree wit u bro but he didn't switch hands why does the clip say he switches hands.

  • actually he does swithces hands (lok from 00:08 to 00:11)

  • whoooo that wa sick

  • way better than jordans. kobe actually did it for a reason. jordan just did it to be cool.

  • guys look very carefully before kobe makes that lay up he traveled.

  • that play was AMAZING...Jordan gets his layup replayed from the 91 Finals against LA...as his "signature" play.. this should be Kobes... truly crazy shot..unbelievable to pull off against Dwight & in the clinching game of the NBA Finals...

  • This was such a ridiculously talented play. KB24 is the best in today's game.

  • they are both(jordan,kobe) great player...thats it!

  • SImply amazing. All this talk between you guys about kobe vs. Lebron. Um, kobe is the best in the world. its not really up for discussion. look at jordan numbers before and after the triangle offense. before the triangle offense, jordan had crazy numbers all around because everything went through him. kobe never had that luxury. he always had to play in the triangle. lebron is out there taking every shot and making every pass- his numbers are inflated. Get off the video games.

  • Comment removed

  • don't be foolish, systems don't matter in the NBA. if a star wants the ball, he'll get it. Kobe had licensed to shoot anytime he wanted the couple years after Shaq left and Lakers sucked

  • pheee147..................look at jordan's number before the triangle and after the triangle. systems make a big difference.

  • Its not college man, NBA is built on stars, and stars will shoot as much as they want regardless of system. Jordan's scoring didn't decline because of the triangle. It went down because he had a strong team around him, and he knew he'd have to pass more to win a championship. It was a choice. MJ could average 35 with a triangle, but Bulls wouldn't ge ta ring. For more proof the triangle is negligible, look at the variation in Kobe's scoring years, all with triangle. its the team around him

  • well who else was gonna take all the shots? kwame brown? smush parker? luke walton?

  • Jordan is Jordan. Just let Kobe do Kobe. I love how Jordan played the game and there's no doubt he was the greatest, but he's not in the league now. Despite Jordan did a great move, he could have ended the play with an easy lay-up. He had no big man jumping to block him. Kobe had to avoid a Dwight Howard's block almost two times while he was in the air. One of the greatests shots ever. Way better than LeBron, for me. Just an opinion.

  • fuck all kobe haters!!!!its all jealousy and envy

  • i pick kobes shot over jordans, kobe had to get it up over the defensive player of the year, and his shot was much more difficult not everyone can make that shot

  • Now for witch one is better. It depends on personal taste. I pick Jordan because I'm more into physical impressiveness. And Kobe's play has been done a million time, and regular people would have a much easier time doing it. To me both shots are not a big deal, so I pick Jordan's out of pure athleticism.

  • u just showed my how dumb people can be, KOBE IS LAZY IN THE GYM????? lol maybe u should hear it from coaches, players, analysts, etc... talking about the guy they ll pick as the most hard working guy who came into the league :)

oh and u mentioned that kobe's move has been done millions times, I BET IF U CAN GET ME ONE LINK THAT CAN SHOW ME SOME1 WHO ACTUALLY DID IT!!

    typical stupid hater!

  • I'm no Kobe hater, you view me as such because your name is kb24theMVP, and I happened to give the edge to Jordan. Lazy was the wrong word, what I meant was that Kobe wasn't the physical specimen that Jordan was or Lebron is, and I don't know if that's genetic which wouldn't be his fault, or he didn't work out like Jordan or Lebron. And by physical specimen I'm talking about speed and jumping ability. Non of the 2 shot is better than the other, it all depends on individual personal taste.

  • wrong Kobe has the vertical 40 inches?, maybe not as high as MJ but he's faster then Lebron definetly

  • I've only read 38" vertical which is not bad. And you lose credibility by saying Kobe is faster. It shows that you're judging by what you think, rather than actual facts. You can google it, Jordan ran a 40 in 4.3, Lebron in 4.4. James always out runs his opponents, while Kobe has to get creative in a fast break. Kobe's 40 for some reason was never released to the public. All I can find on Google are fan numbers, like 4.8, and 4.35 which way to fast. Kobe is great, but he's not a genetic freak.
