Katana and lightsabres are the two worst weapons for WM. Let me tell you guys why. Katana is the weakest out of all the weapons of slayer, and it is slower, weaker, and worst sst than ligthsabre, so lightsabre is better. Lightsabre is also bad, cuz 80% of WM become WM to use lightsabre to try new weapon, and thinks sst of lightsabre is best. Also, sst of ligtsabre is the best, but lightsabre has the worst sword mastery bonus of all the weapons.

@boffyrox02 Sorry, but your are dead wrong. Think about what the weaponmaster's passive awakening skill is, and what their only class buff is. Then look at the stats for katanas and lightsabres. Now, look at what the lightsaber masteries grant - electrocution status effect. Electrocution + high critical rate + high atk speed = a win weapon.

Katanas give bleeding effects, are the single best aerial weapon to WM's, and if you have triple slash cancel have the best ground combo period.

@melancholyid Wm is for PVP and awekening is banned in PVP talking about DNF tourney rulels btw Also, crit rate/electrocution gives dmg bonus which allows the wm to do less combos, which make them actually do less dmg. This is why people dont use +16 weapons even though they have it for PVE. Plus, sorry for misunderstandin you but I was trying to say that most of sabre wms are bad not all. Finally, no katana aerial slash bonus actually messes up the air juggle and blunt has best ground combo

And as for the katana aerial slash, you are clearly using it wrong. On a launched enemy you use it, and then immediately after the third hit you ashe fork. Then the rest makes perfect sense

IMO, Katana is utterly USELESS without using aerial chain slash because that is the whole point of using a katana over a light sabre, for the extra aerial chain slash and the extra aerial chain slash damage. On that note, you'd have to really rack up attack speed to make any use of a katana WM in PvP. Katana is almost COMPLETELY overshadowed by lightsabre (not that lightsabre is OMGOWNGEBEST but that it's just BETTER than katana).

@superman32101 differences between saber masters and katana masters:

at lvl 3, katana gets an aditional hit in the air, sabers get laser damage to thrust.

lvl 5, same atributes to triple strike; you get five attacks, last hit launching.

lvl 7, same atributes to Draw sword(that being you swing twice) but the difference is the damage that comes after. katana gets bleeding, sabers get shock damage. dragon slash also gets the shock damage.
