So how come most of them live in 'chabolas' and cant get jobs, even if they want to. I know some gypsies here that want a fishing licence, to be able to fish legally and not have to resort to crime and scrap to make a living. Their licence is constantly refused - because they are Gypsies - and the 'spanish' fishermen dont want them around. I have lived in Spain for 3 years, it's hard, I am 24, to be honest it's ok for your kids like there ages. Cause you go to school and meet people your own age. However when your in your early 20's, there isn't a great deal of people my age. Also work isn't as easy to find out here. However at the same time Spain is a beautiful country.
I live on an Urbanization called La Marina, which is in the South of Spain about 45 minutes from Grand Alicante, I live about 5-10 minute drive from Guardamar. But around here generally there isn't many my age. Lots of Spanish girls in the village, but most are engaged or married.
what a coincidence! i spent like half a month in Santa Pola last summer. I don´t really remember but i think there was enough nightlife for people at that age, i mean, pubs at night were full of young people...
I live near from Grand Alicante and in the villages are more old people than young people normally cuz the universities and the chances to work are in the big cities,also the young people who live in that area spend the weekends in Alicante city or Elche cuz both places have the best nightlife of Alicante apart from Benidorm in summer,but i see many young people in the villages too,but not british,that´s true,the most british who live in Alicante are old people of 60 or 70 years old.
Oh, I have an apartment in La Marina, it's a beautiful place :D Not much to do, Guardamar + torrevieja are better for things to do, but I do find there a lot of people in their 20's there?

Spain is shit because of the Spanish. I am sure that some mishap during creation ended up with their brains being inserted back to front - if at all. This results in a 'domino effect' on everything else, making daily life in Spain quite unbearable. Spain might be ideal for retired couples with plenty of income from outside and living in an ex -pat ghetto on the costas, but if you are young and looking to make a normal decent living and lead a tranquil life, then forget about Spain.

When the spanish Republic was fighting the fascist rebels + nazi germany + italy (1936-1939) no country helped Spain. WWII started just a few months too late for the spanish people who had already lost the war on fascism. Then the allies came to liberate Europe, but they did not liberate Spain, fearing that liberation would lead to communism.

As a side note, i recall how during 2006 World Cup, when france played spain, TONS of spanish spectators were making racist remarks at france's black players. So how come most of them live in 'chabolas' and cant get jobs, even if they want to. I know some gypsies here that want a fishing licence, to be able to fish legally and not have to resort to crime and scrap to make a living. Their licence is constantly refused - because they are Gypsies - and the 'spanish' fishermen dont want them around. They are then forced back into the vicious circle of delinquency, and then everybody goes on about how bad they are.

franco was aided by germany, portugal and italy. England, france, USA, etc, didnt aid franco directly, but sold him weapons and refused to sell to republicans. Republicans were majority. But other countries wanted franco to counter USSR. Spanish cities were all bombed by american and german made aircrafts.

I have lived in Spain for 3 years, it's hard, I am 24, to be honest it's ok for your kids like there ages. Cause you go to school and meet people your own age. However when your in your early 20's, there isn't a great deal of people my age. Also work isn't as easy to find out here. However at the same time Spain is a beautiful country.

I live on an Urbanization called La Marina, which is in the South of Spain about 45 minutes from Grand Alicante, I live about 5-10 minute drive from Guardamar. But around here generally there isn't many my age. Lots of Spanish girls in the village, but most are engaged or married.

I live near from Grand Alicante and in the villages are more old people than young people normally cuz the universities and the chances to work are in the big cities,also the young people who live in that area spend the weekends in Alicante city or Elche cuz both places have the best nightlife of Alicante apart from Benidorm in summer,but i see many young people in the villages too,but not british,that´s true,the most british who live in Alicante are old people of 60 or 70 years old.

Well, more or less, the Spanish guy is saying that he speaks English, yet implies that these English kids dont know how to speak English and he doesnt understand what they say. I say that I understand them perfectly and perhaps the problem lies with him being a dumb Spanish yokel - as is usually the case here.

Spain is shit because of the Spanish. I am sure that some mishap during creation ended up with their brains being inserted back to front - if at all. This results in a 'domino effect' on everything else, making daily life in Spain quite unbearable. Spain might be ideal for retired couples with plenty of income from outside and living in an ex -pat ghetto on the costas, but if you are young and looking to make a normal decent living and lead a tranquil life, then forget about Spain.

im from indonesia, i was living in spain for several years for study, u know what.. i love spain! i love the people, i love every fuckin thing there.. i love spain, i was travel to belgium germany, austria holland etc.. when i was there i was like... WHY DO THEY WANT TO LIVE HERE?? all what u say is just all thing happened to u, and thats not happened to most of the people.

I´m half spanish I´ve lived in spain for a few years and I think most spanish people are dickheads (except my family of course lol)
They´re very racist and they treat english ppl like scum, the english dont speak spanish so they just go along with it.
Spain is great in july and august but that´s it as everything closes down once the tourists leave and by october it´s too cold to go the beach or anything and the beach & nightlife are the only good things about spain.

The spanish roman catholic Church openly supported the fascist rebels with all of its consequences and they gained many benefits from their victory. They were enemies to the Republic so I don't see why they should have been treated any differently than all the other enemies. When my father's small village was captured by the fascists, the priest of the valley was the one who made the list of those that had to be executed. They were no angels either.

I don't mean to join this nationalist debate, but FYI Spain did not participate in WWI and in WWII the US didn't actually "save Spain". When the spanish Republic was fighting the fascist rebels + nazi germany + italy (1936-1939) no country helped Spain. WWII started just a few months too late for the spanish people who had already lost the war on fascism. Then the allies came to liberate Europe, but they did not liberate Spain, fearing that liberation would lead to communism.

That is bull shoi.. Spain sent 18,104 members of the Blue Division to Russia and they fought bravely outside of Leningrad. They had 40,000 who wanted to go, and sent the best 18,104. Please do not rewrite history just because you don't like it. These men were HEROES wholeft Spain to fight the evil Godless Communists!

Spain did not participate in any of the world wars. Officially Spain was neutral in WWII. The Blue Division was formed by VOLUNTEERS who were allowed to join the german side, but they were fighting under german rule. Just like the republican exiled soldiers that joined the allied forces. Please do not rewrite history just because you don't like it.

You can tell they don't have complete British accents, probably from influences from the Spanish people outside thier home. They sound almost american when they pronounce American words, cool yeah?
P.S. my aunts and uncles in Ireland go to Spain every year for holidays. That's where most Europeans go on holidays.
