@childsca its a RW car, when he left the corner at :20 one of the wheels keeps spining with the high revolutions and the car is uncapable of taking off cause the right wheel is off track spining, if you see he stops accelerationg and as soon as the car decreases speed and get back on track he re-accelerates, the turbo in this machines is not designed to decrease the air income as commercail cars this keeps the high air income as far as high rpms are on

very nice video - good to see that they made crash barriers on the most dangerous corners. In the old times were Walter Röhrl and Ari Vatanen climbed the Pikes Peak there was mostly dirt and gravel and no crash barriers - one driving failure and they would flew directly to the clouds

Rhys is a great driver, and so is Tajima (Tajima broke the all-time Pike's Peak record in 2007).

However, Rod Millen (Rhys' dad) and his Celica from '94 is the best Pikes Peak combo ever, IMO.

Not only did Rod get 10Min, 4Sec back in '94, but he did it when PP was pure dirt and gravel. Nowadays, Rhys and Tajima have quite a bit of pavement to work with, plus the fact that they have 13+ more years of technology to help. Rhys and Tajima are hands-down amazing, but Rod is still #1.
