Thanks for all the great comments guys I didn't make a vid right after but I will make one real soon just been busy but it all came out great and it looks much better then this vid.
I was wondering why you wanted to use 90* cables on the board side plugs. Yes, he would be able to run the wires closer to the drives (or at least in an easier manner) by using 90* cables. And longer cables would also be simpler to hide here, I agree.
Damn, you're cabling looks much much better than mine, lol. Well thought out. Very nice parts. You are very smart at choosing the right parts for your uses. Great work man, it looks so much better than it used to, lol.
Regarding pressure on the Ports, its really down to a judgement call as to how tightly he should wrap them. Though, he won't need much pressure to run the cables where he wants them to go.
You're right to question the amount of pressure that the Sata ports will be forced to withstand, though it is directly relative to how close to the ports you tie the cables, how closely plugged the cables are (and which direction) and how tightly the cables are tied together. In this particular situation (sata ports right angle to the board) it is actually preferable to use straight sata cables as right angle cables will either come straight up or down requiring odd angles to route the cables...
Nice work Rick. If I may make a suggestion, try running the PCI-e Power cables flush down the end of the card and flush down the motherboard tray, then arc them behind your hard drive cage. Same with the Sata cables, make sure they're all installed in adjacent slots if able and zip-tie them as closely as you can to their ports without putting strain on the ports. Then zip-tie them at intervals (to keep them as a unit) so they are flat together and run them the same direction as your PCI-E cables
Hey Rick, Good Vid. I dont use c-channel around the holes I drill for cable management, I use a very small tube and split it down the side and slip it onto the metal edges. It works quite well and the tube I use is cheaper than c-channel. I should really make some vids of my setups....
nice work rick wow when did you get the 280 sorry man i dint see the vid were you got that rigs looking gr8 beast

Intelpentium54321 2 years ago
Yeah, it eventually will. I leave my 9800 GTX+ at 65 percent and that seems to be the perfect speed for it.

my crappy 4550 is stuck at 100
Intelpentium54321 2 years ago
thats not good. it want burn out in a few days it takes time but it most likely will in the future. but you shouldnt need to worry about it that much
