  • my favourite version of pride and prejudice the whole 5 hours of it lol.... :)

  • mrs bennett is a dumb bitch.

  • Oh I wish some local channel here would present this series here in Ecuador :(

  • HAHAHA funny when lydia started to laugh and jane and lizzy would say lydia?

  • loveeeee it !!! colin firth does the best mr. darsi!!

  • Every time I see this, I marvel at Mrs. Bennet's hat.

  • 2:35 My older sister definitely uses that exact tone and facial expression. I still can't figure out if it's because she watched this too often growing up or if she's just naturally like it.

  • It's on this Saturday on the Yesterday channel in the UK at 1pm onwards. Indulge.

  • Mrs. Bennet (the caracter) makes me laugh...she loves gossip and is so silly and think herself so smart hahaha!

  • good lord i HATE HATE HATE Lydia, Kitty, and ESPECIALLY Mrs. Bennet! not the actors, the characters themselves! You know something you are watching is amazing when you forget that these are actors :)

  • SIMPLY MY FAVORITE VERSION OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS ON FILM!

  • @AugustusAurelianus1

    Ma cher...tres bon...wonderful version...love it!!

  • Oh, my, it IS just like the book.

  • i just finished reading "pride prejudice and zombies" i've never had the pleasure of reading pride and prejudice, but after whatching this video then comparing it to the zombie verison, they are beyond identical. Apart from ninjas, zombies, and sparring haha.

  • You wanna get the REAL feel of the book...see this version. What Jane Austen was envisioning when she wrote Pride and Prejudice.....see this version.

  • @Beatleschick1 this version is my favorite, Colin Firth makes the most desirable Mr. Darcy, but the closest to the book is 1980 version with David Rintoul.

  • I must disagree with "whatsupee".

i dont think that 2005 version is better than the 1995 one.

the atmosphere in 1995 version is much better,i mean 1995 version give us a better look to 19th century.

but i do must agree with yvonyvonnette that jane in 2005 version is prettyer than 1995 jane.:))

  • 19th century? You mean the 18th century, don't you?

  • No, because the 18th century would mean the 1700s.

  • Sorry my mistake

  • I agree totally, the settings for the BBC 95 version is more superior to any other. Important point.

  • Thats right, set in Regency 1813.

  • i love this and the 2005 adaptation..of which better, i can't decide..but i'm very much sure that the book was AWESOME!

  • 2005 version can't hold a candle to this one. Plain and simple.

  • This is my absolute favorite version of Pride & Prejudice! The characters are more developed so I get so much more drawn into the storyline. When I saw the 2005 version I was not drawn to the same depth as this one. Thanks for making it available!

  • I completelly agree with u this story reflects in a much more suitable way the book, I think it is because of the actors they did a great job. sorry bout my English I am not a native speaker.

  • It annoys me when people say the new one is the best when they have neither read the book nor seen a former film version to compare it to! Does that bother anyone else?? Its sad :( They probably just love it cause of the beautiful Keira and Matthew, and dont even care about the story.

  • I read the novel and saw the classic film versions long before it was made again in 2005. I went to see it determined to not hold any loyalty to a previous film version, but to compare it only to the book. 2005s version absolutely blew me away. I never thought that a movie could capture the original thrill and love that I had for the book. But the new one did. I love the older versions too, but they just couldnt quite give back the magic of Austens novel like 2005s did. Its my favorite.

  • I like this Lizzy but not this Jane. Jane is supposed to be breathtakinlgly beautiful but this Jane is at best average looking.

  • Beauty is a plastic concept that changes over time.

  • Don't forget the 1980-version people!

  • I like this version better 'cuz it feels like more real XD (Sorry for my poor English) Our high school English teacher here (in taiwan) played the film for us, and we all like it. Firth and the heroine played very well. We like to mimic the move and tone of Mrs. Bennet; it sounds so funny to us.

  • I love the 2005 version better than this one... but it looks good too.

    :)

  • The ultimate chick flick. Seen it about 15 times (despite not being a chick) and it never gets old. Superior in every way to the 2005 movie version. Keira Knightley getting nominated for an Oscar instead of Jennifer Ehle proved once again the Academy Awards are a pointless exercise in back-slapping favouritism.

  • Or perhaps Jeniffer Ehle is just not a good enough actress to receive one.

  • If Keira Knightley is good enough to be nominated for Academy Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Empire Awards, Critics Choice Awards, Saturn Awards, MTV Movie Awards, People's Choice Awards, Satellite Awards and what not, Jennifer Ehle is good enough to win them.

  • Well she had better get a move on then, this movie was 14 years ago, and Jennifers not exactly made her mark the way Keira has in that time.

  • amen!

it bothers me so much that the only connection so many people have with pride and prejudice is the 2005 version.

  • I like the 2005 Pride and Prejudice a lot!!!! I would really like to see this one too, it looks good! I love Mr.Darcy! <3

  • i like the flim version better with Keira Knightly in But i LOVE Colin Firth in this but i think Keira Knightly is more witty and she makes a better Lizzy

  • I love Mr. Bennet in this version. The actor in was the best choice possible.

  • I love it!!!!!!! great movie!!

  • does anyone know the title of the background music?

  • It's the main theme to Pride and Prejudice (1995) by Carl Davis.

  • I have to say Mrs. Bennet has to be one of the greatest characters ever written. And her portrayal in this movie is amazing.

  • i love mrs. bennet she is so funny

  • YES I agree! LOL! I say if I should have five daughters I may be the same. LOL!

  • 1:56-2:00

Miss Austen couldn't have said it better herself!

  • Aw, Mr. Darcy's bewitching eyes and smile... I just love his particular voice and the way he speaks. :-)

  • I dislike those Empire gowns. They look like maternity frocks. :-)

  • At least a woman looked like a woman.

  • True!

  • lol at Mrs Bennett at 1:53...

    I love this version!

  • I loved this production back in 1995 and i still love it now. Absolutely wonderful...

  • Quite simply the best period-piece ever filmed...

  • Simply timeless.

  • Love this version. Thanks BBC.
