  • Hi Matt,

We do the Sound and Lights for Christopher Holland, and he mainly plays at weddings, Let me tell you, the amount of issues like no table, or not enough power to run our rig when we get there. I know exactly how you feel.

    Anyway, take care

  • good vid. i want that stella brolly!

  • Hi Matt, Great vid what speakers are you using? are they 12's?

  • hi, they are 15" carlsbro gamma active speakers :)

  • Matt, We Yorkshire folk have some weird dance tastes, don't we? Rehab! Oh my god.

I did a wedding not so long ago and the 1st dance was "Leave, Get Out"!!!!!

You have got to name and shame the Comedy Disco. That is a classic.

Keep up the good work and say hello to South Yorkshire for me, I miss the place.

    Paul.

  • Mmmm , I was thinking of doing a name and shame feature but I'm not sure how ethically correct that would be. so I may just do a feature on "post your photos of comedy disco rigs" without naming. however I may do a name and shame for Cowboy discos and dodgy venues (non payers etc).

    watch this space lol

  • Matt, still use cd's, what would I need to go digital?

  • A Laptop is a good start, even the low cost ones that are avail these days will run the software if you are just doing discos look for one with a hard drive of around 60-80 gig, if you are also doing karaoke then you will need a high end laptop with a dedicated graphics card & a larger hard drive 120-250 gig. We use Virtual DJ for the software however other DJing software is avail.

And thats really all you need to start off going digital-total cost of around £350 4 puter and software.

  • Matt, when I get a video camera I'll be able to do some gig logs for ya. It's so interesting seeing how you guys do your gigs compared to what we do. Do you carry your rig in the back of that station wagon car?

  • cheers buddy.

yeah I can get everything into the car (VW PASSAT), because we've gone digital it means the rig takes up a hell of alot less room so no need for a van. was only using a T bar in this vid but can fit a double crossbar rig in it too. the only probs that start to arise is if I need more than one bass bin as well as the speakers .... gets a little cramped in there. lol

    looking forward to your vids.

    cheers
