This is a cool video and the song fits it so perfectly. I play Higher Trails and other John Hanlon songs from time to time on a Sunday night on Radio 1XX in Whakatane and the Eastern Bay Of Plenty.
Think that this is a great add for NZ and i have told many of my Oz friend about John Hanlon and they say they have never heard of him but several have checked him out and love this one the most .
@cspace1234nz Hi,that's wonderful,I was born in NZ in 1961,so John was so cool back in the early and mid 70s.I was very sad when I heard he had moved to Aussie, and got back into advertising.I'm very glad he has got back into his music, you must be very proud. All the best.
Wow, Off The Edge's Higher Trails by the brilliant John Hanlon is my New Zealand National Anthem, you are actually in that hang glider at 5000 ft as you come trucking round the bend as you listen to this inspiring song,, just fantastic!
John Hanlon's Dam the Dam has recently been posted. Search "Clutha Mata-Au - Saving a River". This awesome song will always remain an inspiring anthem for conservation in NZ.
Great song from a great NZ artist of the 70's, and fantastic movie clip to go with it, seem to remember he had a great enviro song called Dam the Dam, love to hear that again.
Bloody great song, almost an anthem. The flying footage in this movie was shot on 16 mm film aparently, tricky to have those heavy cameras out on the wing of a hang glider.

Whatever became of John Hanlon?

I remember this being a starting feature at the pictures, I think the film was a James Bond film with Roger Moore.
