  • I've never heard the original version of this song...

  • more interesting... every FF from SNES on usually say 0, KO'd, or something else... this one just says flat out "0/DEAD" lol

  • *pulls out the Blood Sword*

Emperor: NO! NOT INTO THE PIT! IT BURNS!!!!

*throws blood sword at him, killing the Emperor*

  • Why does the blood sword do so much god damn damage WOW.

  • Interesting fact: the guy who designed the battle system for FF2 started the SaGa series, from FFLegend1 and Romancing SaGa on. They certainly seem similar, don't they? :)

But, yeah, FF2 is tedious and flawed as fuck, but I love it: 2nd favorite FF, only below FF6. :) I own the Famicom cart, and that's how I beat it -- on my NES. :) I love the magic system. :)

  • Who here soloed, But Not Used Firion?

  • his HP is pathetic. 15k isn´t it?

  • This was the EASIEST final boss I've ever played!

  • What's this "ungaaahhh!" business?

  • What's this "ungaaahhh" business?

  • They should've made his HP around 75,000. That may actually make the fight fun.

  • @itachi1284 Yes it would :P

  • I think he has 20000HP in Japanese version.

    10000HP is just too little.

  • There is no other version than Japanesse for FF2 nes. This is a translated version.

  • @NeoArashi Exactl,y. Thus, why Guy is named Gus.

  • In the GBA one, his HP jumps from 10000 to 15000, but blood sword does 9999 because of that, since its damage is based on enemy's def and hp (the higher the better)

It has piss poor accuracy though, but a high str and 16 sword character can rape most bosses with it.

Just..... don't use it on undead. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T DO THAT.

  • made that mistake =D

  • What happened?

  • it drains your health and gives them health

  • OH SHIT! D:

  • Wrong.

In NES and PSX he have 10000 HP,in PSP 15000 and in GBA he have....100.000 HP!

  • Nope, GBA it's 15000. I should know, I killed him there like 6 times.

  • Plus, It's in teh beastery. BTW where do you get masamune and teh blood sword?

  • I don't think so. I saw a video when Firion attacks Emperor twice and take more than 9999 HP and 9999 + 9999 = 19998 ^.^

  • Same HP as in the PSP version of the 'Dark Emperor', 15,000 HP with about 540 MP. Try to use osmose in order to stop the star fall spells and possible counter-flare, but ONLY if one of your party members has enough for an osmose spell and is nearly out of MP, otherwise, it might not work.

  • A pussy of a final boss.

  • Final Fantasy 1 Excabular with Chaos it took a while and Final Fantasy 2 Blood Sword is an instant death.

  • Epic graphics 0_o

  • we need a hack that would let you play soul of rebirth on the rom of this

(don't ask me i do not know how to hack)

  • This is my favorite version of the game. When I first got it on the famicom I couldn't read it but I found it better than the first one but not as good as the third irt has a unique touch to it and the music is awesome. This is one of my favorites.

  • I agree that this game has a certain "feel"; the world feels huge and mysterious in some way, especially with the ominous world map music playing and the airships flying above you.

I actually think the first few hours are the best, because then you can easily level up by exiting and re-entering the dungeons a few times; the last dungeons tend to be a bit ridiculous on the status magic department though, with STON8 and stuff on your whole party. XD

  • Totally owned nuff said :P

  • lol, so much for the Emperor. Went down in two hits...

  • PREPARE FOR THE FIGHT OF YOUR LIFE

    *fails*

  • i cant find the blood sword at Fynn castle.. i looked all over the basement but to no avail

  • its in pauls secret room

  • Can anyone verify if this trick works with the Playstation 1/Final Fantasy Origins version of this game?

  • yes,it works perfect, not so fast as here but it works

  • Thanks, man. I'll prolly want to check that out the next time I play that again. :D

  • way cool. i used to have a nes and never played this game

  • That's because this was never released in America on creation. Americans never saw a legimate (as in non-ROMed) version until a more recent Wonderswan Color version of the game was modified into half of what Playstation games know (and possibly love) as 'Final Fantasy Origins.'

  • Wow...2 Hit Ko with Blood.

I tried Breserk + Haste on my main and Hit 8800 with Blood Sword.

  • jesus final fantasy 1 2 and 3 for the nes are old times i remember playing them when i was lil lol i didnt even know what the hell to do omg i wanna play them

  • if you want i know where do get 1-6 easy and cheap

  • where

  • naw i have them in my psp its ok

  • cooler spell efects though ^^ but where the *piiiip* is that tower with ultima tome

  • the game isn't that bad and the music is awesome.

  • wow i never seen ff2 in nes version i have the gba version.

  • i dont know where they got that sprite, but it looks like half of a body, with a cloak. ( other than they made it up)

  • the emperors sprite looks completely different in the remakes. idk why.

  • I'd kill to play this version of FF2

  • Just figure out what an emulator and ROM are, it's not that hard.

  • @wormwood5073 Download the ROM, buy GBA or PSP's version or, if you are an iPhone happy user, buy the iPhone version.

  • this boss is easy

  • That fight makes no sense. The game is devilishly, soul-wrenchingly hard, and then the last boss is this bozo. whyyyyyyy?

  • It's only hard in the first few hours really, anything after that is a joke.

  • hhhm? rly, I just got Egils torch, from that red soul, and I think that was hard, when does this game get easier, cuz i dont think it does

  • Aurongel, you just suck at games......

  • Agreed.

  • @SadrackVonArten Gotta love stat grinding..........

  • that seems like an easy fight

  • I think his weakness to the Blood Sword is based on the fact that it does more damage to people with high maximum HP. At least on the GBA version, drain attacks do more damage as your characters get more HP.

  • The Emperor's possible the easiest boss in the whole fireakin' game if you have the Blood Sword (possibly even easier than the Sergeant).

  • That's a fact, I killed him with 1-2 Blood Sword hits with Fyrion on gba.

  • man this is like kotor after leveling up enough a few hits and the main boss is dead

  • kotor= Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic?

  • in final fantsy, it is probably refering to knights of the round, an ungodlyly (is that a word?) powerful summon from FFVII

  • ungodlyly isn't a word, but you are forgetting the second O.
