look at the surnames of 10 performers in the beginning of the dance, they are all HAN Chinese surnames, no tibetans at all. But tibetans are Chinese too. This dance and music is designed by HAN Chinese but based on Tibetan style music.

A Han Chinese music student visited the town of Kangding, then the capital of Xikang province (today's western Sichuan), in the 1940s to entertain a group of local Tibetan soldiers who were shipping out with the Kuomintang Army to fight Japanese in Burma. He composed this song based on local Tibetan music. Today, this song is the most popular love song in China.

No offense, but this dance is kind of messy. The slow parts are good, but the higher tempo parts are icky. Cute girls and outfits though.

I've seen the exactly same choreography by Tian Jing Conservatory and they were GREAT. It's a good dance, maybe these girls just needed a little more training.

The girls seem very young also. Middle school or younger maybe? In the original dance they were college and up level dancers, and probably live and breathe dance. I'm sure these girls have more things in their lives than dancing. ^_^
