  • This music is horrendous. Why not leave people to choose their own?

  • I've rode arabians and thoroughbreds and EVERY arabian I rode/met was so calm and they were the horses for the beginners, but the thoroughbreds were hyper and needed experienced riders. I prefer to ride thoroughbreds but prefer arabians personalities because they're usually really sweet.

  • i have an arabian welsh pony and he is beast he has the better stamina out of the 2 breeds but my tb has extreme speed so the breeds are both amazing

  • i personally think thoroughbreds r better but thats wat i think im no a big arab fan i had one and he was not very friendly so now i use thoroughbreds but thats just my opinion

  • they are pretty cool.... if they didnt have that nasty dished in face.

it could be worse... it could be roman nosed(:

like if you know what those are!!

  • I got mine for it,s Arabic lines inherited threw the first I had read.Thought the mighty Arab horse was too much horse for me.Hard to have a faviorit breed for me they all are king and qween to me.

  • As mentioned all breeds come from the Arabian and all other breeds have mixed with each other to get the desired performance, most quarter horses are from Thoroughbred bloodlines and most racing QH's are half thoroughbred. Since the breed allows crosses to be registered. So basically the Arab is a pure breed the rest are all mutts but good mutts.

  • Arabian Horses can hold their top speed longer then thoroughbreds. They were created for running long distances across the desert. Arabians were bred into thoroughbreds to make them faster. Arabians are may not have as long of legs BUT they are lighter in weight which makes it easier for them to carry themselves and a jockey farther and sometimes faster. I had a 100% arabian filly and my friends had thoroughbreds and some of them were retired racers and she usually beat them when we raced =)

  • Maybe thoroughbreds can run faster but arabs can deffenitely run longerr distances....

  • quarter horse is better than both. actualy if you can find a mutt it makes them all look stupid. no inbreeding tougher than nails smarter healthier. you can keep your purebreds nothing but inbred vet bills.

  • @123456789mischief

no their not u got to be kidding! Throuoghbreds are the best breed of horse they can do anything but their not for people who like a slow moving quarter horse.

  • @horseygirlxoxo1000 ya except the quarter horse is the fastest horse. fastest thourobred was 40 mph fastest QH was 55 mph. Thourobreds are good for flat lands but keep em out of the mountains.

and I don't hate thourobreds just like you don't hate the QH we just have our preferance for the riding we do.

but be honest it's fun to have arguments over it isn't it?

  • @123456789mischief, Actaully i disagree. Quarter Horses may be really fast in short distances and infact is the KING Of short distances but in a long/ up hhill etc. races the thoroughbred and arabians would definitly have a better time, speed, and lots more energy left then and a quarter horse. but im just stating a statement but you are right quarter horses are pretty fast.

  • @123456789mischief first if you wanna start preaching bout this stuff learn to spell ok? second, secretariat clocked 49mph ok?

  • @98kire

I agree any moron who can't spell should keep their moronic comments to themselves. It is a sign of complete stupidity on all levels.

now all I ask of you is what is the correct spelling of WANNA and BOUT?

and the QH was still faster by 6mph.

    OK?

  • @horseygirlxoxo1000 If I may -- As someone who has been riding since she was three and has sat just about every kind of horse there is, I find the statement that quarter horses are slow moving to be patently absurd. Racing quarters can reach 55 mph, and no one who has sat a barrel racer, a cutting horse, or a roper can doubt the power and agility of the breed.

  • @123456789mischief but i dont hate them so dont get the wrong idea

  • Every thoroughbred owner I haveever talked to is always complaining of hoof issues, quarter cracks, stone bruises, absesses. My arab has feet like rocks, not once has he ever had a single foot issue and he is barefoot. Nor has he ever had a bone issue. He is ready willing and eager to go anytime I want, not stuck in a stall because he hurt his tender little hooves.

  • In the endurance world, Arabians beat Throughbred's every time. Thoroughbreds can't handle 50 and 100 mile distances, but the mighty little arab can go all day long. I love both breeds and am a devoted racing ran, but I don't own one, I do own a little black colt who is 3/4 arab with a little morgan thrown in that will outdistance your throughbred in a few miles. He would be a gorgeous dressage horse as well if i decided to go that way.

  • i got 2 say the throuoghbred is better just cuz i race them and have my own.

He's off the track plus throuoghbreds can run twice as long and fast

  • Both are great horses, there's no doubt about it. And the TB would not be the same without the Arabian bloodlines. It's bloodlines can be traced to two Arabian Stallions, not three as some have written. The third was actually was a Turk (now the Akhal Teke), a Turkemen race horse. The Turk came from the Byerly farm. The Arabians came from the Darley and Godolphin farms.

  • i cant believe you guys are agruing about the breeds you cant tell if a horse is going to be a good or a bad horse by their kucking breed!! Grow up! Really!

  • arabs are beautiful but i like TBs better.

  • quite a few of those horses werent arabs

  • My fav are arabs, they are the purest breed and tbs trace back to the arab. they are both equally fast but the fastest breed is the quarter horse for short distances

  • There are a lot of non-arab pictures in this movie.

The TB thanks his speed to the Arabian horse.

Yes the TB is faster, but the Arabian wins at distance-speed ;)

  • are you kidding throuoghbreds are crazy fast I live on a farm and we train racehorses.

We owned zenyetta at one time!!!!

    They fly when they run!!

  • @horseygirlxoxo1000 Yeah, and Santa Claus lives me.

  • well the arabians head has a dip where his brain fell out they are all crazy

  • @monkeymangonewild Arabians are actually considered on of the smartest horses there are, and they are only crazy if their owner makes them that way, them being crazy and uncontrolable is a myth that sadly everyone believes

  • arabs are the Caliphate means the ones who own the world ;)

  • ARABS OWN THE WORLD

  • arabians can beat any horse any day i love arabs the barn i ride at has 3 they are amazing

  • I have 4 thoroughbreds and 1 arab, then another 2 horses and I admit my arab isnt exactly a sporting king, but who cares about that? I dont think somethings better just because it can run faster, yet thats what everyone is making out.

If anybody had a more valid point then it would be the ones talking realisticlly

  • @detailedlove any arabian horse can beat your thoroughberd horse or anyone elses

horse in a 1.7 or more, mile race

  • Comment removed

  • @cassiemyclyde Maybe, but who knows-you might find 1 that can.

  • @detaledlove any arab can beat your thoroughberd horse or any other n a 1.7 mile

    or more mle race

  • ya ok i understand arabs are good at endurance. you know i rode an arab for a long time and it was the worst experence of my LIFE, in fact i almost quit. i have ridden tbs too i personally prefer tb. they do it all

  • @crazydawg97 Not really, Tb are good horses, but i wouldn't say that they can do it all.

  • I have 1 Arabian and 1 Thoroughbred they both r the love of my life

  • i dont have a favorite its just what the temperment is of the horse, thats all the matters, then after you find good horses you can worry about looks, and thats the hard part :)

  • @ViolaLover2010 I dont think its got anything to do with temperaament, I have a very very beautiful throughbred who is the most grumpy, rude and extremely nippy horse I know , but he is gorgeous and i love him for everything he is...

  • Well, I like both Arab and TH but Saddlebreds are best! :)

  • @herewefly They are nice horses. :) But I just prefer Arabs.

  • I bet my arab can beat a throughbred any day in an endurance race

  • Arabs are awesome and would excell at anything! Thoroughbreds are great but can they really do everything an arab does and still look as stunning as them? no i don't think so! (I still love thoroughbreds)

  • hmmmm.... comparing arabians to thoroughbreds. each has their own talents and strengths. BUT arabians just happen to have way more then thoroughbreds ^_^

  • @phunkyyall Uh no I dont have an olympic Tb, but I do have a ex Grand National racehorse and 5 other horses and 1 foal, 1 of my horses is an arab and 4 are thoroughbreds.

Yer obvs there are different disciplines, but It doesent mean arabs are better than some tbs at endurance most yes but not all...

  • Comment removed

  • I love Arabs but I think TBs are pretty cool. I'd have to say though i like arabs better

  • i own an arab hes super fast and hes quick and enduring :D but he cant jump lol i still have to teach him that but i hava shetland that can jump 4 ft hes dun it b4:D

  • hey arabians are the best horses you could get and your though bred cant beat my arab

  • hey hey my arab gives me a challenge everyday and its never boring training them they can go to the olymics but A they arent long bodied but yes arabs rock theres nothing else to say!!!!!!

  • People in case you don't know every horse has a little arab blood in them since arabs are the oldest breed of horse known to man in my opinion though I like arabs but I prefere Saddlebreds I have 3 right now, 1 arab, 2 miniatures, 4 hackneys, 1 morgan, but really saddlebred are like a bigger version of arabians

  • ya go ahead and waist ur time thnkn that the ariban is ok, it SUCKS!!!!!UNGLY AND *****n UglyandDUMB

  • @ianwuz123 Why do you have to put everyone down on something that they like? If you don't like Arabians, why are you watching it dummy? And no, they are beautiful and without the Arabs-we wouldn't have the horses that we have today. Read the book King of The Wind. Without Arabs, we wouldn't have TB, SaddleBreds, and other breeds of horses. So shut up, and let everyone else like what they like.

  • heey, great vid, but alot of those pics of the "arabs" doing dressage arnt all arabs, most are warmbloods, warmbloods also have a tendancy to get dishy heads as well, arabs arnt that great in hih leveled dressage as they dont have the exagerated movement im not saying all dont but yeahh, still great vid, arabs are one of my fav breed :)

  • My I remind everyone that TBs are bred from Arabs... The famous 3 Arabian stallions that eventually led to the Thoroughbred.

So Arabians have everything they are bred for, plus the TB sped. :)

TBs are usually bigger (in my experience. If you've seen many 16hh Arabs, then okay.) and TBs have been selectively bred for speed, so they are more.. whats the word?... more... focused on speed. :] Both are excellent breeds, though I perfer Arabians. :} ♥

  • Each horse has its strengths in specific event, like humans and Olympic track and field

Strong built quick twitch 100-200 meter dash = quarter horse

800m 1500m steeple chase strong quick with endurance= Thoroughbred

10k marathon slight of built all endurance some kick at finish = Arabian

Warm bloods are like the gymnasts strong, flexible, powerful, athletic, all around

    but they stay off tracks.

I love all horses but ride endurance on Arabs.

  • I'd say treat thehorse equally their both gorgeouse!=)

  • in my opinion, anyone who says thuroughbreds are better than arabs obviously has never even been /around/ arabs, let alone ridden one! =)

  • @HavvahartKL I loooooooove Arabians.I have 18 and they're amazing.I love all horses though.

  • @missreneau i agree, all horses are great. thats so cool that u hav so many!! im jealous =P

  • Arab's are stunning,don't get me wrong..But Thoroughbred's....

    Thoroughbred's have speed !

    Arab's I think don't suit Dressage :/ Neither Thoroughbred.

  • i guess it depends on the particular horse, I love any horse thats good doesn't matter what the breed is. :)

  • mysecretkill YOUR STUPID ARABIANS ROCK THOUGHBREDS SUCK!!! dont reply! thank you cause 2morrow im going away and i wont be able to reach u so yea

  • @littletigress10 SHUT UP! OK? TB ARE JUST AS GOOD! arabs are kinda dumb. but so are TB's. There both GREAT horses so please, please just SHUT THAT TRAP!

  • @iloveCASH100 Arabians are known for their BRAINS and BEAUTY. Thoroughbreds are very smart as well. They are under no circumstances, dumb. :/ I would love it if you didn't call them dumb, any breed of horse/pony. Thank you.

  • @HorsezRtheBEST You know what? i was mad then OK?! i know that there all smart and stuff but i was mad at him! i liked TB's better at the time! cool your beans!

  • Thank you! i agree with you. no bred sucks. it just is the individual horse that matters.

  • @iloveCASH100 Arabians are not dumb-they just as smart and cocky as anything. Wanna know-my friends has 20-and oh my god, does his golden bay Arab Flash loves to flirt with me. But they are not Dumb. Horses are truly smart.

  • thoroughbreds are not always ill!

they can be if there raced too much but thats not there fault, its ours! arabians are used to harsh conditions but it doesnt mean there stronger? there both good!

  • picture 118 is gorgeous, but thoroughbreds come from arabians so in a way there the same, but arabs are smaller, it is true though there both excellent breeds and i couldnt choose between the two but in my opinion i think thoroughbreds are faster, but arabs are just as fast :)

  • I have ridden many tbs adn many arabians and half arabians. I love all horses and all breeds. every horse has the potential to be good at something. but I could never go without an arab in my life. If you take a 3 yr old unraced tb and a 3 yr old sport horse style arab and give them say 5 years of the exact same dressage training. They are both going to improve and learn. Its not the breed its each individual horse. I also think its funny that we have tb vs arab, when tbs are 33% arab duh

  • If you guys would just get a QH you wouldn't have to worry about fighting lol... There is good and bad in all breeds but I do have to say Arabs are better just because they haven't had the brains bred out of them and also if you know and thing about TBs you know that you can trace thier blood lines back to Arabs

  • Thoroughbreds are actually due to the mixture of Arabian blood technically a specialized Arabian... You wouldn't have a Thoroughbred without the Arabian... The mighty little Arab gave him endurance, speed, and bone...

  • Comment removed

  • I think all the horses are pretty, but the Arab is the prettiest of the world and more versatile also.

  • Arabians are GREAT.

    Quartet horses are BEST.

  • I have a little Quarter horse, and a thoroughbred...i love em both..they are amazing, and i have always wanted an arab, they are very pretty.

  • :) i love quarter horses

  • Fantastic! The beauty, courage, and athleticism of the Arabian horse is a marvel....

  • Thank you... that was wonderful. I have a full Arab and an Arab / Quarter Horse. They are both super smart, athletic, and always aim to please. They would do anything for me and are just the greatest. I think that TBs are great too and an Arab certainly would not stand a chance against an Arab on the racetrack. On the other had, a TB certainly wouldn't stand a chance against an Arab in a 100mi endurance race.

  • it also depends on the horse. but i took my quarter horse in an endurance race and he loved it.. we got third.

  • I like both TBs and Arabs, but if had to pick one, definately the Arab, they're much more versitile, not to mention more sound. Look at it this way, all the good in the TB comes from the Arab, and all the bad in it comes from the racetrack.

  • I've owned a hald-arab and I am currently the owner of a Throughbred filly. I love them both to death, and breed is irrevelant to how much "better" a horse is. It's their personality, will to work, etc.

All horses have certain characteristics that make them "better" than another horse.

  • I 100% agree. its not the breed, its the horse itself that makes them better or worse...

  • okay u have no idea... no idea at all.. every horse in the world has arab in it! all the TB have arab in them.. and every horse can do everything.. if i had a choice i would go with the arab they can do everything in the show world and out in the regular world.. tb cant they only know how to race and jump. im at the barn right now and its all warmblods.. there is arabs and tbs there most of them r eather or.. but arabs have so many body types so arabs can so what ever.. there amzing horses.

  • You can't just assume thing like that. przewalski have arab in them? And you sound like your about to cry.

  • i dont assume, i study.. arabs r on the top on the breading world. every past historty of a horse leads back to the arab.. history book, and so many other breaders books will lead u back to the start of the bread.. look it all up.. its n the books,

  • Very well done!

  • I think Tb are better horses. Yes arabs can jump and do dressage, But tb's do it MUCH better. A arab is already a fancy mover, get a fake head set and there ya go dressage horse. A tb has to work, has to be flexed, has to buield muccle to be as fancy. And jumping, cmon you dont see arabs jumping 5ft everyday like you do tb's They are just better

  • See im the proud owner of a arabian and we do everything from pole bending to dressage..yea you say the TB can do it much better..but dont you realize it would not be able to do that without the arab influence...EVERY horse has arab in there blood ECSPECIALLY the TB..the arabian is th oldest breed..you think the arab doesent have to work to be elegant??..the arab is the HOTTEST breed..there temperment is different than the TB..trying to teach them a discipline is much harder than teaching the TB

  • thanks for the video. Arabians are amazing horses and I would love to get one or a mix one day when I have the money. No one horse breed is the best over all the others. Some excel at certain skills, but they are all amazing in their own way.

  • @o0CallOfTheWild0o

me 2 i would love to get one someday... love arabian horse so much

  • Arabs are definatly the best no one can even come close to them, what other breed offers park saddle seat, driving, endurance, jumping, dressage, reining western pleasure, cow horse, halter showmanship, hunter pleasure and over fences all at a national level they even have track racing, i personally have dressage arabians and would put my purebred arabs up against your thoughbred any day

  • my 2 favorite things! thoroughbreds and and all american rejects. seeing them dec 11!

  • I love horses. My fave pony when i first started to ride was a arab cross. Now though i definatly prefer thouroughbreds. As i got older i wanted a challenge. Power, something that wasn't small compact but gentle like the arab. So i convinced my parents to buy me a horse after 12 years of riding and i got an ex racehorse. He is huge powerful and unbelievably fast. He can jump well over 5ft. Still all horses are amazing but i prefer TB's. They are known as the king of horses for a reason.

  • give me my irish sport horse any day, he's a lot less breakable then a flimsy TB though

and tbh, it's the sport horses and warmbloods that you see at top level rather than thoroughbreds, so they're not known as the king of horses really :)

  • My TB actually has loads of bone lol. He is a great weight carrier and has as much bone in his legs as the shire X at out yard and most of the cob's. And i only got the king of horses thing from a book of breeds. It says it is "perfection in enquine form" and "thouroughbreds are truely the king of the horse breeds". I don't mean to sound bias or anything cos i don't favour TB's cos of their looks but their loyalty and friendliness also they are sharp and quick to learn :D I love all horses thou

  • @mysecretskill trueee, what you said, but i do eventing, and in the eventing world, 60% of all olympian horses are tbs :) id love to have an irish sport horse cross tb, though they are gorgeous

  • @mysecretskill Flimsy tb? I'm sorry i dont think you have taken a proper look at a tb they are far from flimsy and breakable!!

  • @DeathKitty123456 no offense but if it weren't for the arabian you wouldn't have you ruthless TB...where do u think they got their speed and power? def not the english mares....they got it FROM THE ARABIAN....and i've been a horse person all my life and never have i heard of the TB being the kings of horses....i'm sorry not trying to be rude and i know its your opinion but i'm also just stating mine in saying that what u said urks me.....

  • @bballgirlmu1 i know about the history of the thoroughbred and its what my book says and i do think thoroughbreds are the most versitile of breeds and in my mind the most inteligent, and the most popular. I like arabs and i used to ride one but thoroughbreds are THE horse for me :)

  • @DeathKitty123456 all just a matter of opinion i guess

  • I jump and trail ride my arab! he can do everything, but i agree with you. all horses are bred to do different things

  • It doesn't matter what breed you have, certain breeds are bred for a purpose...just like thouroughbreds may not have the endurance an arab has nor an arab the speed of a thouroughbred....they are all beautifull in their own right. We all love horses, it's just that we prefer different breeds....

  • I dare any arab to race my thoroughbred!

    Ps. you won't win

  • if it's uphill and it's a stamina race, you'd be eating the dust of an endurance arab any day

  • @mysecretskill

wanna try racing my friends 3 day eventer TB? i have tried so many times to beat her, but no one at my yard can!

  • @mysecretskill depends, if its a thoroughbred fit enough to run a 1* and up leveled cross country course, the arab will be eating the tb's dust :P

  • @mysecretskill

lol u havent seen my arab run!

  • @detailedlove STFU

  • @detailedlove all breed of horses has an arabian blood on them. because arabian horse is purest breed of them all. check your history on horses. don;t mind me its only my 2 cents, comment

  • Comment removed

  • @detailedlove thats rude

  • @detailedlove Where are you located? I´d like to take the bet. But I´d be racing my standardbred. Many TBs and Arabs have been eating the dust behind him :) No mather what distance :P

  • @detailedlove you don't have to be mean... and if there weren't any arabs there wouldn't be thoroughbreds, because arabs are the founding fathers of the tb

  • arabs before tb's any day and i own both so i got the best off both worlds but prefer arabs deffernatly put your ass on some class and ride an arabian

  • You wouldn't have the thoroughbred without the Arabian!

  • Arabian and Tb's rock i have both my 25 yr old arabian was going soo strong in jumping dressage and croos country i was doing western and speed events and he won he was jumping 3 9 until he was retired then i got a tb and he is just as good i love arabs and tb s and they both have the same bloodlines lol

  • Thoroughbreds ROCK!!!!!

    arabians stink!!!!

    Thoroughbred are better than Arabians.

  • I dont own either but do you know three arabian stallions started the thoroughbred breed?

  • 0:13 looks like my horse

  • sharnisee: LOL you made my day!! :) ARABS ROCK!!

  • i personally prefer arabs look at them absoloutely beautifal , arched necks , tails up and lovely faces also very fast and elegant but tbs are faster but if i say soo are no were near as elegant nd beautifal as arabs i have an arab and i once owned an tb thoroughbreds are way to flighty compared to my arab rosa

  • thoughbreds are so much better! jumping, dressage the hole 9 yards... they are amazing horses!!

  • The funny thing is.... some people hate Arabs but love TBs. But, in the beginning of TBs, the founding sires of TBs were Arabs! lol

I love both of them! :)

  • Arabs are gorgeous, I'm lucky to own one. They are the grand daddy for racing, they have incredible stamina and endurance. FYI some of those arabs look like American show horses, But thats ok lol

  • OK SO TO THE PERSON WHO MADE THE ORIGINAL ARABS SUCK VIDEO AND THEN DISABLED THE COMMENTS BECAUSE THEY KNEW HOW MUCH SHIT THEY WOULD COP FUCK YOU WITHOUT ARABS THOUROUGHBREDS WOUDNT EVEN EXIST!.AND YOU DONT COME ON HERE AND DIS SOMEBODY ELSES HORSE FUCK YOU. ALL HORSES COME FROM ARABSSUCK MY DICK.EVERYONE HATES YOU GO DIE IN A HOLE. now: to the person who made this video :) i respect you entirely and i completely aggre. i love the song choice.. AAR FOREVERRR!

  • Comment removed

  • Love Sharnsiee's comment!!!

  • arabians are amazing. period.

  • Yes, Arabs are beautiful, they can be fast, most of them are beautiful jumpers, and basically they're and all around horse. TBs are just as beautiful. They're big, fast, and they're face is roman nosed not scooped out, but that is too beautiful. TBs are mostly used for english riding and racing only, i dont think they would make a good western horse because they are so,...... big and lean and elegant. Nice video but you should have had half arabs half tbs. I like both breeds very much!!

  • I've seen some people barrel racing TBs and I know some TBs that would make awesome barrel horses. They can go both ways but seem to be best in english. (In my opinion) :) Nice comment though.

  • i love them both! :)

  • Both Arabs and TB's are great! And remember, to those of you who don't like arabs: all horses descend from the arabian, so saying you don't like arabs is just saying you don't like horses, if ya wanna get technical about it lol. :) Both are great, and have pros and cons about each of them, just as any other horse breeds do. Arabs rock! TB's rock!

  • ARABIANS ARE AWESOME! SO ARE THOROUGHBREDS! They are both so adorable and plus they are both hotbloods so dont go blabbing around saying "Arabians Cant jump but Thoroughbreds can" ALL HORSES CAN JUMP all horses are awesome too!

  • I love them both i have an arabian and a thoroughbred and i them both to death and i think they are both beautiful horses

  • I love both tbh =) Arabs are gorgous and have paces to die for and TBS are also gorgous as well.People think that TBs are all hot headed and difficult but I have an ex racer and he is the sweetest horse in the worl he wouldn't harm a fly and he's chestnut with four white socks! People say Arabs can't jump but all the Arabs I know will jump whatever you put in front of them! People need to stop stereotyping horses =)

  • ENSIGN & PRIMMORES PRIDE(pippa funnells top horses) are ex racehorses-tb's

TAMARILLO (william fox-pitts top horse) is Arab x Tb. most top eventers are cross with throughbreds because of their speed and their good mental ability but the arab is brilliant for the natural stamina. So either way every1 is going to find faults and bonuses for each breed. tb's are usually bred to race or event.Arabs are usually bred for showing or dressage. but arabs are just as good as tb's in many different ways :)

  • I have an arab! :) and when he was younger he use to excel at show jumping :) I have nothing against throughbreds, but the ones who i have ridden usually have awfull feet and arnt that special, so i dunno if ive just had a bad experience of them or what but i would have an arab any day :) and warmbloods are bred for show jumping, throughbreds are usually bred for racing (: and eventing sometimes xxx

  • Same,,,I Hav A Part Bred Arab Who Jumps :) And My Old Tb X Used To Hav Bad Feet :S Buhh I Do Likee Tb's They Usually Do Make Ace Eventers :) I Likee Both :) x

  • I think arabians win they are beautiful and thorobreds can't do all the things that arabians can.

  • I gotta say, I'm a hardcore Thoroughbred fan. They're the greatest athletes in the horse world. I love a horse that can clear a five foot hogback effortlessly. ;) When's the last time you saw an Arabian in the Olympics or Grand Prix? Like, never. I don't like their temperaments at all. They can never just sit still and they think everything is out to get them. And you feel like there's nothing under you when you're riding them. Thoroughbreds FTW.

  • actually, the majority of grand prix horses are not thoroughbreds, they're warmbloods

99% of the showjumpers i know would prefer anything BUT a thoroughbred anyday, because they're so thin and breakable.

  • That's true, just because TB's have become out of fashion in recent years. There are still Thoroughbreds competing with warmbloods, and I think they're on pretty equal grounds. Some are fragile, some aren't. It depends on their breeding. My trainer jumped and barrel raced her OTTB well into his twenties. The hardier ones are more versatile than people think. I have one myself, and he's nothing like the stereotypical racing-bred ones.

  • @mysecretskill yes but in the racing world a lot of jockeys would prefer a thoroughbred, and for many reasons.

  • not meaning to get into an argument or anything, but tbh not all of them never sit still, i ride an arab who is calm and doesnt spook at much at alll. arabs are amazing :D

  • My guy is one of the most chilled-out horses in the barn, and the two mares are fantastic riding horses. Like I said, it all depends on how they're treated and how they're bred. They're extremely sensitive, just like Arabs, and it's not a pretty picture if they're treated wrong. I'm sure Arabs do make great horses with the right person. They're just not for me.

  • yeah i agree with you on how there bred and treated, was just putting my own oppionion across :) :D

  • @VictorsChick4ever Arabians are petite. That's why they don't jump the 6 foot jumps that Warmbloods jump. ;)

  • @VictorsChick4ever ummm, are you talking about a tb or arab there? if you knew the temperament of a tb, there the ones who cant sit still, and they think that everything is out to get them! HA, obviously, you must have a great tb then, everyone ive had has been very hot headed, my arab does shy at things and look, but not as bad as my tb, they only place you'll see a tb up at top level is eventing, we dont need horses with greaaat movement, or to be able to jump 160cm, i still love tbs

  • i waz riding a part arab pony last week

he waz like one of those bucking horses in rodeos :L

    lol

  • I agree they are both AWESOME!!!

  • Arabians for sure! No offence thourobred people! But Arabs are my passion!

  • I think that both breeds have their good and their bad points, however I prefer the Arabian because they are more versatile for what I like to do (endurance, a bit of jumping, huntseat, and some western). Arabians have much more variation within the breed and type of Arab: halter type, egyptian, polish, racing, pleasure, sport horse, etc, wheras the TB only has one body type and one purpose: racing. Arabs are much smarter & more sensetive than other breds; you must be smarter than the horse.

  • Thoroughbreds come in two body types. The racing type, and the classical type. Everyone thinks they're just a bunch of nutcases because TB's are associated with racing. Race horses are treated like machines, so is it any wonder they start going loony? OTTB's turn into really nice horses once you give them time to learn to be a horse again. Non-racing horses are much different. I haven't met one yet that wasn't decent, but I've met plenty of Arabs that are completely out of their minds.

  • They are Both beautiful but i think a arab is better

  • i just have one thing to say. i have an arabian. but aren't thoroughbred horses descended from arabians? lol. i love all horses. i wouldn't give my arab up for anything!

  • Every single Thoroughbred, BY DEFINITION, MUST descend in the tale mail line from one of three Arabian Stallions imported to England to improve the speed and stamina of their native horses: The Darley Arabian, the Byerly Turk, and the Godolphin Barb.

So, um, yes. There's no such thing as a Thoroughbred without Arabian blood. Furthermore, there were later infusions of Arabian blood to improve Thoroughbreds.

  • no arabs are from Thoroughbreds

  • Actually, Arabians are the foundation horse for all breeds, ESPECIALLY Thoroughbreds. Read up on it, there are 3 main Arabian stallions that almost ALL horse breeds can be traced back to. So Arabians are the founder, not Thoroughbreds.

  • i did on wikipedia and it said that arabs are from thoroughbreds. i didnt think it was wrong but i could be i guess. sorry.

i just prefer thorobreds but thts just my opinion. i dont think they are betta or anythin but i just do arabs are good aswell i suppose

  • arabians created the thouroughbred!

  • yeah i know i just read my book thing wrong sorry lol
