  • This song inspired me to pick up playing piano. Absolutely amazing job as always. If you ever get the time, I would love to hear you play Far Away from Home by Jim Brickman.

  • Very nice! I play piano as well. ;)

  • thank you and that's awesome! :)

  • i have a question. i have the same keyboard that you use in this video, and i'm wondering how you got the sound to be so clear. is the keyboard plugged up to external speakers or your computer or something?

  • the keyboard is plugged into an audio interface, which plugs into my computer via usb so i can record a clear .wav of wwhats coming from my keyboard. then i overdub that .wav file over the video to give it the best quality i can

  • WoOw! that was beautiful!!!! really! i loved it! you play with so much feeling! i wish i could play like you, i'm taking lessons since february, but i can't play with both hands! you are amaizing! so talented!

    thanks!

  • yea it took me about a year to play with both hands :p u'll get it

  • id love to, but i cant :(

  • Phillip, i envy youre beautiful piano playing skills!

you really let the music flow through you, i can tell.

    you play so wonderfully.

    keep up the good work.

p.s. perhaps if you wouldnt mind making a video, you could possibly use a tripod if you dont have one? or maybe get a good friend of yours to hold it above your head. i love your music! <3

  • i'd really love to do that one day, but i dont have a tripod :( thank you very much though. i'm glad that u enjoy my music :)

  • I dont have a piano and i dont play piano ( i wish i could ) but ive allways loved piano music and i think you are just great thankyou.

  • thank YOU :)

  • sorry, definately not note for note. i improv a lot

  • brickman's work is good for that, his style allows for a lot of interpretation. you haven't played "rocket to the moon" have you?

  • Well I have a sugestion for making a tutorial.

1.you could have someone hold it, and it doesn't have to be above ur head, it could be on the side like this

    2. if u do make a tutorial, don't make it really cheesy, just play this really slow K

  • no one seem to have put a tutorial for this song... Ever though about it? - Would really like to learn. You're doing a great job!

  • i'd love to but havent figured out an effective way to get the camera above my head

  • you should have a friend hold it above your head. please...i can't read the sheet music...nor can i find it ANYWHERE!

  • Awesome sound. What piano do you play on? I've had a Yamaha keyboard for a long time, I am looking at getting one with actual piano keys..not too expensive...any suggestions?

  • I have the perfect suggestion. my old keyboard (the one in this video). Yamaha YPG-635 :)

  • i was looking @ the 635...i assume u liked it? what do u play now?

  • yep i liked it :) i play the Yamaha Motif XS8 now

  • will you pleas post a video on how to play this

  • wish i could but i havent found an effective way to put the camera over my head. sorry :(

  • Perfection :')

  • thanks! glad u think so :)

  • I'm not, because you're not even playing it. because when you change the sheet music you're still playing

  • sorry, I'm wrong your realy playing it! I looked better at it and then I saw that you are realy playing it. beautifull. sorry for what I said before.

  • its fine :) glad u liked it :)

  • No way! I love this song and i have it but I never knew the name of the song bc it said something different when I downloaded it. Like it said Enya as the title. It was weird but it became one of my favorites in no time! :) Glad to know the name of this song finally! :)

  • haha well there ya go :)

  • google . easy to find like every sheet...

  • LOVE IT! Living in Ohio I can really appreciate the inspiration here. See, Lake Erie CAN be beautiful! Nicely done, Phil!

  • thank u :)

  • That is an absolute amazing piece! The way your hands moved across the keys, made it look like ripples over a lake. Stunning!

  • wow. thanks :)

  • you have got an AMAZING talent!!!!!! keep it up you are one of the best "unprofessional" (okay, i know i spelled that wrong) people i have heard. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!

  • well thanks :) maybe it wont be "unprofessional" one day :D. but i dream lol. thanks for the compliment and comment

looking forward to that tutorial!...or watever u chose to do..thnx again!

  • still workin on an effective way to record top down on my hands

  • this is really pretty. good job. talent

    bc

  • would it bother you if you made a tutorial or put the camera above the piano and played slower??????.....im trying to learn it but im having the hardest time...im learning it by sound..i can only play an easy part of the beginning...but itz ok if its too much trouble, i'll keep tyrin'.. ;P

  • no it wouldnt but i wont have access to my piano until august 3rd :( just remind me :)

  • oh! cool...thnx!

thats my sisters bd so i guess that should be able to remind me...

  • the store on his website.

  • Phil - Outstanding job! This has to be my favorite piece by Jim Brickman. When I saw him in concert last year, he didn't even play it. I was a little dissappointed. :(

Thanks for the request, keep up the great work!

BTW, I believe this piece came off his "By Heart, Piano Solos" released in 1995.
