The right translation is "I sacrificed my soul in the name of the sweet sound of your flute, when I heard it". Another somewhat a little more contemporary translation would be, "After hearing the sweet sound of your flute, I became the die hard fan".

Also punjabi has two terms for flute. The flute Ranjha is using is called "wanjli", the flute that is blown on the end is called "bansuri".
