  • Don't "Slice" the end of the notes in first movement. Same as the moving 16ths in 2nd movement.

  • @jonathan97s Thanks for listening.

  • Nice playing, man! Some fuzz with recording I hear but very good playing anyway!

  • @puskajussi37 Thanks for listening!

  • Is it okay if I download this? I'm accompanying a trombonist and I want to use this for practice. Is it fine with you? Great performance by the way.

  • @hobosunited247 Sure you can download it! Thank you for watching; I really appreciate it.

  • After reading other comments, I hear the small mistakes you've made, but I'm playing this on Euphonium for a solo contest in February, and I wanted to let you know how much of a help this video is to my practice. In fact, I probably wouldn't have been able to learn it in time without it, luckily I'm only playing mvmt. I and II. Seriously though, you sound great, and I don't know if I could possibly get it up to the speed in mvmt. II any time soon, just so you know how good this is.

  • @Schmitz0215 Thank you so much for your time and for your comment! I wish you all the best for your performance. I have a lot to improve here, but that is the way it is.Thanks again!

  • Can I download this somehow?

It's really good and i have an audition coming up soon!

  • @wolfy324 Thank you! Sure you can download it!

  • I think your notes are a little mushed together and don't be so rubato, keep a straight tempo.

  • @33trombone Thanks for listening and for your advice.

  • My high school has recitals annually, and I was deeply considering doing this piece on euphonium. After listening to this video, I think I'd like to do it on trombone, to honour you :D

The only things in this that didn't please me were when slide movement was audible in changing notes(which seldom occurred), and a few phrases cut off at the end for breath. Other than those two things, this was brilliant; beautiful tone, great sense of rhythm, stellar articulation. Brilliant performance.

  • @EatsSammichesGuy Thank your very much for your words! Yes, I agree with you and I am working on my issues. I wish you an excellent performance and all the best!

  • @42ndninja I am sure you can do it!

  • Thank you so much, I needed a recording of a professional playing this on the trombone to help with my A-levels, so thanks, it's good too, I'm learning this, nice to hear fellow trombonists playing it too. :)

  • @GreySoulXAnima Thank you for your comments and for listening too! I am glad to know that!

  • No problem...you play very well!

  • Very nice. I am teaching this to a 12 grade bass trombonist for his college auds next month, and you are doing everything I've been asking him to do...ie, play it musically!

Be careful in mvt. 2 that you don't chop the last 8th note too much...keep the end of a phrases as beautiful as the beginning. Nice work on the 16th passages. I think your breath control is fine.

  • @susanmg13 Thank you very much for listening and for your advices! I really appreciate it!

  • nice job man, best recording i can find and helped me chose this as my audition piece.

only advise i can think of is what you've seen too much here, just stamina with your tone =P good job though

  • @Nickg175 Thanks man! I am glad to know that and I am working on that. Thanks again for listening!

  • Seems like you get tired after 4 min in the recording, but other than that you have a beautiful tone! Nice Job!

  • @will955000 Thanks for listening! Yes, I know...but I'm working that.

  • doing this for S&E

Going to have fun with this.

  • @chskcsmith Thanks for listening!

  • Don't spread the tone. Come with more air when starting notes. Work on keeping pitches and a clear sound.

  • @CrazyRobotsRock7 Thanks for listening! I am working that.

  • hey, this sounds pretty good! my lesson teacher gave me this piece, but i'm only doing movements 3 & 4 because i got braces a couple of months ago, and can't do a lot of high things anymore, but anyway! i'm going ot use this to help me learn it. :)

  • @scoobygirlrn03 Thank you! I am so glad to know it and I wish you a good practice!

  • You could definitely use some more legato tonguing in the first movement, and faster slide movement through the entire thing. Other than that its sounds pretty good.

  • @eshbone1211 Thanks! I appreciate your advices and I am working that.

  • @DJFuNKYKiNG Thanks for listening! Yes my friend...4 pages! All the best for you!

  • Wow thats pretty good. My private lesson teacher gave me this peace today to play and i am going to use this to learn it.

  • @longhorns659 I am glad to know that! Thank you and have a good practice!

  • Sounds nice =]

1st movement: watch tempo... you sped up on some parts, and then slowed down; and also, watch where you take breaths and the length of the notes (i.e, measures 17-19).

2nd: some of your slured notes sounded... not separated enough. It was hard to distinguish some notes, and it almost sounded like your glissing. Also, when you you get to the sixteenth notes around... 71(ish), you rushed them a bit. And it sounded glissed again.

    3rd: good

4th: Try and clean up the fast moving parts

  • @Tahuchan Sorry, I was running out of room lol

but more on 4: I know the music has the notes slurred together, but it sounded a) rushed and b) too much on your tongue, but not enough tongue (if that makes sense).

But overall, you have a great tone and sound on your horn =] I'm jealous XD

  • @Tahuchan Thank you for your comments... That is the why I keep practicing,,,

  • great

  • Silvabone, very well done. just remember that tempo is relative. you played the second and fourth movements at a tempo too fast for your tongue to keep up with. I played the second movement at about 75% of that speed, and the fourth at about 80% of that speed.

  • @dharrington3035 Thanks! I appreciate your opinion and I agree with you. Thanks again!

  • i played this last year!

    I also love your tone!

Umm, I was following along with music as I listened to your playing.

In first movement, there were many times where you kinda cut it when there is a slur. I think you should respect the music itself also but I think you're a great player!

  • @mungjae Thank you for had listened to me carefully! I really appreciate it and next time with sure I will play better. Thanks again!

  • @mungjae

me too but I play this year

  • Very nice tone! You could make a little more of the dynamics in my opinion.

  • @emmettgoods Thanks! I appreciate your opinion.
