Takes me back to the first real book report I did in elementary [forget which grade, 4th or 5th] school, I got all the 'big birds of Africa'.
I really got into all of these big birds, and was going to get my first 100% on anything other than math,,, until the teacher asked me about the other big bird of Africa which I forgot entirely, the Ostrich. But I had every other African big bird covered.

Beautiful animals, so sad to see them slowly but surely disappear. But worry not my fellow earthlings, for it is not too late yet. Come on people, we can still save & protect them!
Thanks for the comment. I remember watching some storks land at the Sweetwater lodge area in Kenya near the equator. They looked like planes coming in for a landing. They are creepy looking birds.
i feel so sorry for all the african animals.they are all going to disappear or end up as pets. we anihumans dont get shit of what are the consequences of or stupid fucked up mentallity
Yes 1 minute is too short. I thought I had longer footage of the Hornbills, but I filmed most of them for some reason on the HD setting, and my computer can't handle HD footage right now. too slow.. sorry.
I find the marabou really creepy - I saw it at a zoo and it stared right through my soul with it's scary eyes!
Their bald heads with grey fluff on them makes them look like a really creepy old man!

The way those hornbills are walking through the grass reminds me of cops on a cross-country manhunt . . .

A large-beaked bird damaged my bugle and I had to pay to have it repaired. Damn hornbill.

Looks like Halcyon senegalensis, a Woodland Kingfisher, although there are several similar looking species.

marabou stork is a very cool bird. even though it is ugly and clumbsy looking, its flying is very smooth. i saw one flying in nigeria many years ago

Good Job !
How much of each species are left?
WildlifeMediaChannel 3 years ago
Different sources say different things. Both birds are losing habitat. Some list them as little concern, some say vulnerable.
In South Africa the Ground Hornbill may be down to only 1,500-2,000 left.
