"Night mode" at 9:15 is more likely to preserve biological night vision rather than save batteries. It has to do with rhodopsin depletion in the rods in the eye and whatnot.

I'm running this on an Inspire 4G, and it gets better battery life, it mounts the external SD card, and the recovery works for me. It also seemed to have faster network speeds on 3G than the stock rom on 4G.

I think CyanogenMod7 for Galaxy S is an impressive Rom, I have it installed in my SGS in fact, but the waste of battery is too much. And video reproduction isnt so smooth like in other Roms. Excepting this, great job, really great job. Thanks from Spain and sorry for my english... :-]

I'm just in the process of installing this, but I realized, that maybe you have installed the CM7 with lower battery voltage than what it is when full, thus the battery-cache might read your battery stats wrong, turning the phone off early or having problems with battery life. I suggest that after installation, you charge full, then use it until it's drained, then recharge full again and wipe the battery cache. Had the same problem with Darky's.

@alyxander You do not. So updates are so easy you can do them in your sleep. You can usually download the file straight to your phone without needing a pc. Then just reboot into recovery and flash the one zip file.

@sactoguy99 I have tried juicedefender, but it didn't make enough of a significant difference. I like to get 24 hours on a full charge with the way I use my phone. I get that easily with a couple of the other new GB roms. 8-12 hours isn't enough for me, but some users may not mind charging often. I hope battery life is improved with the new versions.

@Abuzwebstar Best gingerbread roms in my opinion are the JVK based custom roms. There are a few choices, and they are quite stable and useable, but should still be considered beta releases. I hope to do a couple of JVK based reviews soon. For Froyo I am very partial to Darky's 9.5 ROM as it is an amazing super stable and very fast rom.

@drreality1 there was the odd but rare force close, but not more than I have seen with stock JL2. Generally while running audio applications. Call quality was fine. VERY easy to jump back to Froyo. Thank you for your comment.
