HINT when your detained you are not free to leave. they can detain you for a reasonable amount of time to get your ID which may mean bringing you to the station 4 your prints. The 5th amendment does NOT apply to pedigree information! @YvetteGuz Videotaping the police while they do their business is prudent for both the police and civilians. If the police follow the law then the videotape is THEIR protection and for proof that they did everything by the book. This is why many police cars are equipped with video camera that record wherever they go.
