  • The Intellivision 2 used a strange voltage power supply not 9 volts. The Power Button Reset was annoying because you had to hold it exactly the correct amount of time for it to turn off, to short and it just resets to long and it still just reset when you release the button. The Controllers were cheaply made and broke easier then the first Intellivision and they were very un comfortable with sharp edges that dug into your hands. The Sears Super Video Arcade was the best Intellivision.

  • Good review, is the system worth collecting for if I already own a Atari 7800 and Atari computer? Which version is best to buy.

  • @ATARI800XLfan Kinda hard to say I don't play mine much but for it's day it does have a fair amount of good games. I grew up mainly with NES the only thing I really played before the NES was the Atari 2600 so I don't find myself getting into these as much as others who grew up with them. If you like pre NES era games you'll like the Intellivision.

  • Intellivision II is the best console of it's time.

  • early 1983

  • @WarshipAngelus what he means is: the Intellivision's main CPU is 16-bit. NOT the graphics unit.

  • I got an INTV2 with game organizer, 15 games, 3 game catalogs, instructions from a few of the games, ac adapter and lotsa overlays today! No rf cable included.

  • hey today i got a intellivison II and 18 games with their manuals and overlays for $79 is that a good deal

  • @Louieshine Yes, that is a VERY good deal. Normally people charge around 70 to 80 bucks for just the system itself.

  • intellivision was ahead of its time, i had both atari and intellivision as a kid i enjoyed the intellivison far more

  • Great video! I just bought a mint condition Intellivision II myself yesturday and I love it!! Everyone hates the controllers, I really dont think they are that bad! I also picked up a mint condition Donkey Kong and it didn't work. I was unaware that the system blocked out 3rd party games. Good 2 know! Happy gaming!

  • Atari and genesis controlers work with it

  • Coleco's Zaxxon also does not work on Intellivision II.

  • do you have a magnavox odyssey 2?

  • The Intellivision was a 16 bit system, was before Nintendo and Sega and Atari..

The games didn't look 16 bit to me, since I also had a Intellivision. The Atari clame to be a 8 bit system, but in reality, it was really a 4 bit system. During that time Coleco Vision was the only Home console system that had near perfect arcade games. But You already know that. I just find it funny that the Intellivision was a 16 bit system back in 1979.

  • The Intellivision II is the model i had as a kid. I got mine for Christmas 83. I wore the controllers out and sold it back in the early 90's. I still cringe at all the rare games i sold.

  • Only 20 bucks! I got a Ice blue one for 45.

  • is that a PC engine and a PC engine-CD in the background?

  • INTV II = Best Console Ever

  • Olny downside is INTV can't play Coleco games such as Venture, DK, and Carnival. Seems like the controllers had hard to push action buttons compared to the original.

  • Venture was on the intellivision

  • Congrats on picking up the Intv II. Now here are a few things you might want to pick up for it: ECS (Computer Adapter) Intellivoice for games like B-17 Bomber and Space Spartans And here are a few games I HIGHLY recommend purchasing. -Thunder Castle -River Raid -Bump n' Jump -Tower of Doom -Astrosmash And if you really enjoy tinkering around with the ECS, try hunting for the music synthensizer that goes with it.
  • to tip you off, a intellivoice, a music synthesizer, and a INTELLIVISION COMPUTER! buy it now 966.00, or best offer, get it now before it be gone!

  • LOL! You got to be kidding.

I just sold an INTV II, Computer, Synthensizer, Intellivoice, System Changer, 20 games, and World Series Major League Baseball all for $200 lol.

I dont think that auction will be going gone any time too soon :-)

  • Your IntelliVision 2 uses a 16.2 volt AC adaptor, which is MUCH different from the sega adaptor. I personally prefer having the original, but I've settled with the InelliVision 2. Nice finds!

  • Maybe if the chord for the controllers wasn't coiled it wouldn't be so bad, but all in all, hardwired controllers are fucking stupid.

  • Did he just say "Son Of A Diddily"? 1:42

  • Bits do mean shit, that is way it was a way better system the the Atari.

The Intellivision II was not as good as the first one because it had cheap quality controllers that dug into you hand because of the sharp edges on the controllers.

The Reset Power Button was really annoying because it would never turn off when you wanted it to. The Sears Super Video Arcade was the best because it had the same controllers as original Intellivision but they could be unplugged.

  • do i see a Marantz stereo receiver in his entertainment system?

  • Yes you do!

  • Looking back hardwired controllers and number pad = Retarded. At the time = practical since there really wasn't much to base it off. Hell look at the Odyssey 1 lol.

  • "bits don't mean shit"- That made me almost piss myself, your awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • i have a colleco vision that doesnt work how do i fix it?

  • My favorite game on the Intelliviison is Burgertime.

  • Never seen this system in person before. Any good games for it?

  • Yes, It has a lot of good games.

  • I do wonder just how much DDR1 held us back in overclocking a few years ago. Would have been interestering to know what would have happend if it stuck with rambus.

  • I do like the look of the Intellivision 1 better than the 2, idk. That is just me

  • much better then its first model.

do you have an atari flashback? if not ill do a console review of it and you can chack out the video when its done

  • The tubo grafx16 was the first true 16 bit consle but it did have a 8 bit cpu i think so technicaly intelivision was the first

  • Is the N64's RD ram similar ram to that stupid rambus ram that was used in early pentium 4's?

  • Bingo. RAMBUS was FAST for the time but it was really expensive to make so it died off.

  • @MN12BIRD Not too sure about that, the PS3 uses a next-gen type of RDRAM.

  • @MN12BIRD

that's why rdram for my dell is so expensive...

    but fast memories^^

  • ooooohhhh....I like that smoke N64.

  • i have 3 n64's and one of my power suplies burnt out

  • N64 is my fav one from all time

  • You wouldn't happen to know how long RCA Cords have been around, would you?

  • MN12BIRD great review, as allways

One suggestion, could you put something white in the table, a white cover. because the table is black is not easy to see the items.

    thanks

  • Great Price on the N64 smoke , did it come with av hookups or a controller?

  • No just the console and power supply.

  • Glad to see you're making videos again :]

  • whats a jumper pack???

  • the brain of an n64 without it you cant play games on the n64, but then they made a expansion pak witch made the graphics better.

  • Brain of the N64? Not really I think the CPU would be the closest thing to the brain. But yeah you need it for the N64 to work. They come in there stock but often get taken out when you find used N64s because people like to pop them out. Its a terminator for the RD-RAM bus. You can replace it with the Expansion pak witch is an extra 4MB of RD-RAM for the systems stock 4MB (giving it 8MB RAM total) it doesn't just make the graphics better its simply more RAM and some games like DK64 need it.

  • the atari 2600 did not have a power LED but the atari 2600 jr. does!

  • that smoke N64 is rare! I just have a normal black one.

  • is it any easier to put the games in the intellivision II than the intellivision 1 like the angry video game nerd it's like trying to stick you dick in a cheerio

  • Where did you pick this up? Value Village?

  • No that would be nice but this was from a Flea Market.

  • That's a mighty nice Intellivision II and Nintendo 64 you got!

By the way, I've tried to use a Genesis controller(Majesco 6-button pad) on my Intellivision II, but nothing worked. While the controller port is similar to the one on the 2600/7800/Genesis/Master System, they don't have the same pinouts, making the Intellivision II's controller ports completely incompatible with any controller except its own. I may be wrong, but that's what I've experienced - I should try it out again.

  • you have the same N64 as me! this makes me almost faint in awe! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS! I AM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!

  • Yea, you can replace the controllers. But can you find some for a decent price?!?

    I want a Pikachu N64

  • i have one

  • I'm not the biggest fan of case modding, but why not put some bright green LED's inside the unit? I think it would like very cool.

  • Sorry about my lack of interest in the Intellivision II, but that N64 is NICE! When I get my N64 it should hopefully be the clear green colour, but it might just be black like your other one.

  • Wow I never even seen a intellivision II before. NICE.

  • nice pickups man nice n64 I almost won one on ebay but I got out bid by a fucking dollar

  • Sure the Intelli II's controllers are removable, but they are vastly inferior. First, the side buttons are mushy and do not "push in", they more like "bend in". Second, the keypad is flat and not raised making it difficult to feel what you are about to push during an intense game like AD&D. Third, they are near impossible to take apart for maintenance. Overall better? Naa...although not playing Coleco carts could be a good thing!

  • i've never even played an intellivision, I do know they competed with Atari back in the day, it'd be cool to try one sometime

  • As far as N64's...ive got the regular Grey and the Blue Pikachu edition...ive really wanted to get one of the color ones...

that smoke one looks cool...might have to look for one.

  • Lol, two of everything. You'll have to call you're place Noah's Arcade soon if this keeps up :D

  • Nice finds. Intellivision DK was horrible

  • cool n64 i like the intellivision II design a little bit better because now it has a power led and interchangeable controller ports that was a great find man

  • Haha I have an Intellivision video exporting right now. I have had a few Intellivision 2s over the years. But I don't care for it as much as the Intellivision. Intellivision 2 was the cheap-o model. The Intellivoice has a hidden slot on it that was going to be used for things like wireless controllers but a lot of things went down hill in 1984 for game companies. So lots of good things got canceled and shit. But you know people were really simple minded then.

  • They had Atari lol. One whole button on that controller. Anyhow, a nice little video here. What's your high score on Tron Deadly Discs? I will have to come to Canada and pwn your ass at Armor Battle some day. Plus, that dam power supply for the Intv2 really is getting rare. I would make sure you have a real one if I were you.

  • Actually its nowhere near a 9V, it used a 16.2V Adapter, if it goes your screwed! My Power Supply on the INTV2 blew out and I have yet to find a replacement :(, I just bought like 15-20 games including World Series Baseball (UBER RARE!) and can't play it :(

  • Damn really? What about a universal notebook adapter? You can get cheap ones for like $25 that will do 16V I'm sure.

  • I might just have to do that, the cheapest I saw any replacement for the INTV2 was infact $25USD. I love using OEM items for my real systems, but in this case I might just have to try that out!

  • Awesome find. I had no clue that there was an Intellivision 2. You learn something new everyday. I'm not going to ask what you picked everything up for but knowing you my friend, I'm sure you got an awesome deal on it all.

  • Nice finds! I wanted the Intellivision II at once, I saw that the games where cheaper than the Colecovision games. The Coleco might have lived if they made a model 2 lol

  • I picked up a N64, Playstation 1 with mod chip, Sega Genesis model 2 with 2 games: golden axe and rocket knight adventures. All this for 35$.

  • Dude, you find the coolest stuff! Awesome classic game systems!

  • i picked up a n64 for $20 too

  • I picked up 2 snes's for 10$

  • i always unplug my consoles when I am done...especially my intellivisions because of that

  • oh and btw when you said Didi Kong racing I was lke *hell yeah* btw I though the intellivision was made in the 70's but released in the 80's.

  • WoW very Ironic. I was looking at the intellivision episode of avgn earlier today.

  • I've got an Intellivision II and the Intellivoice module sitting in my closet, unfortunately I don't have the AC adapter or any games for it. I bought it a few years ago and actually forgot I had it until I found it again a few days ago.

  • You had a green N64 back when. But you did sell it so I guess it don't count.

  • Yeah I bought it to take the Expansion pak and then sold it. Should have kept it but back then I wasn't really collecting this stuff just had a few consoles!

  • I'm actually trying to find some more of the colored N64s as well. My friend Ray who I buy my games off of had a watermelon one I might get that one If the price is right.

  • Intellivision II came out in 1983.

  • Thats awsome.

Today at a garage sale i picked up an Intellivision and about 15games...for $1!!!

The lady said it was her husbands when he was younger...she asked if i would play it...told her yes...and she priced it at $1 and threw in the games!

  • I think she wanted to have sex with you!

  • lol

  • sigh...she was well into her late 60s early 70s...i think she just wanted it out of the house.

  • Experience.

  • HAHA

  • did you fuck her?

  • 20 bucks, lucky.

  • Not really.

  • burger tine is awesome

  • Your one of my favorite more personal game reviewers!

    Cheers to you my friend!

  • Oh, and we are both Canadian to :)

I can relate to your prices and buys more so then the rest,

Diddy Kong racing is one of my favorite N64 games, i remember buying it when it came out and it never left my system for a few days. Id like to try out the DS version someday.

Never tried an Intellivision but am always looking for them at yard sales and the odd flea market. You can seriously find the odd gem every now and then.

  • When you've played the N64 version of DK Racing, then you play the DS one, you just feel... Wrong.

I did not care for the game on the DS at ALL.

  • your right bits are shit! it all comes down to prossessing power!!

  • my first game system was a radioshack tandyvision system it is quite rare now only lasted about a year do to copyright looked just like origanal intellivision my second was an intellivision II system 3rd was atari 2600 liked intellivision II caus intellivoice was built in ben trying to find one I loved burgertime

  • I do have the green one.. very nice... but what the hells the point of having 2?

  • Obviously so if in 10+ years when one breaks you still have a working one!

  • ...In 10 years? By then you'll hopefully be passed your gaming phase and regret spending $20 on a SECOND Nintendo 64 when your first ones fine.

  • gaming phase? its a hobby for life

  • Lol. Touche.

  • I guess you don't understand the concept of collecting this stuff. In 10 years it will be harder to find and worth more than ever. All the old machines will be harder and harder to find in 10 or 20 years.

  • Yeah, I can see it going up and up and up. I just got back into console gaming not long ago and was surprised at how much certain systems go for now compared to how they were back then. I passed up buying a $9 2600 because I thought it was too much :) DOH!

  • I get it. I just mean, its such an investment to trust in.

  • LOL...I don't think he cares about the investment. Even if they were worth nothing he'd still collect them. It's all about the love my friend!

  • i had the donkey kong n64, transparant green

  • i still have mine, I even played DK64 today

  • That's pretty fortunate that the games had the boxes and overlays

  • Yes, you are, of course, correct. The Intellivision II was not combatible with games published by Coleco. My original box for Donky Kong by Coleco has a sticker on it that read "not for use with Intellivision II." So, Coleco did find out at some point.

I'm one of those old gamers that you mentioned in your video. I was 25 when Coleco launched it's Colecovision. It was a strange time. Everyone was publishing games for the competing systems. Coleco even made an Atari 2600 clone.

  • Nice vid dude 5/5 and I could see the pc engine and cd drive for it in the backround

  • i also prefer to have 2 of everything if i can just in case one breaks, i have another one! but only if i have extra money...

  • 101!

  • As George Plimpton would say "Intellivision -- it's intelligent television". My favs as a wee lad was Sub Hunt and Advanced D&D. I also enjoyed Poker which I think was a packin game for the original INTV.

  • Nice find!

  • yet another cool video man ,, great stuff

  • About the N64. The N64DD released only in Japan is compatible with a north american N64 their is no lockout chip or anything.

  • So weird... I have the first Intellivision and the n64. Smoke looks very badass, did you get a smoke controller with it? The second version looks cheap. I may just be bias to wood paneling though. Doesn't play DK? So worthless. Gotta admit the switch is cool. Good product review.

  • nice!

  • I tried to look at value village today and I got nothin!!! >:O Great stuff you got!!
