lol wow.. I play both. EQ2 gives you 100000x things more to do then wow. Almost endless dungeons. With all the things wow has done; Faster lvling etc..its very shallow now. You spend more time with nothing to do. Raids are extremely easy and get boring fast....I luv wow; but EQ2 is full of pretty much endless things to do. Plus they have a mentor system that allows you to play at any lvl...You never have to worry about falling behind. (until endgame). The graphics r insane in Eq2; depends on pc

This looks ridiculous. There's no movement during bosses. You just stand there casting while the boss fights your tank. To it basically comes down to gear and the classes you have in your raid.

I played the EQ2 trial sometime during the summer and the game looks WAY better than this, for those of you that are judging the first 5 seconds of the game footage. :) I was bored to tears in WoW, Aion is full of idiots, and FFXI obiously hates its players (play the game and you'll know what I mean). Play something new and modern. Warhammer Online is great for people interested in PvP. And before anyone comments before actually getting deep into Warhammer. Yes, the PvP is better than PvP in EQ2 or WoW. There is no competition.

DDO is great if you're into lore and story. Yes, I said it. Deal with it.

I played Eq in the early days. It was such an amazing game. I eventually quit. I found WoW once it first came out and...it was extremly drawn out and just got very boring. Haveing a few 80's in that game just proves you dont have a life. But in EQ2, it seems that this game gives you more space to just play it as...well a game. I don't want to look for another 6 months of just video game stuff. I know this sounds completly retarded but does this game give you space to have a social life?

The expansions aren't required for a beginner but almost without exception the newer areas for beginners are easier, with quicker quests and better rewards. As the game has steadily been dumbed down for easier consumption. So the newest expack with a newbie town RoK would help a lot, even if you dont start there you can move another char to their newbie area to level up.

As far as classes.. youd have to try a few... SKs are the tank flavor of the month as they got some good upgrades but they should be evened out again by the time you leveled up. Bards and Chanters are always in demand but are a little more boring to play an level up. Druids are the weakest healers but are expected to be beefed up soon, who knows if itll be enough.

@Kabob55 get the xpac it will save u a ton of money and it counts on what you like if you wanna be lazy be a conj or necro if you wanna be in charge be a guardian Sks are badass when it comes to PvP and power lvling but if you wanna be constintly goin be a healer best one would be Warden Temp or Mystic and if you wanna do damage be a scout (Not Bard unless you wanna be grouped offten) or mage (Summoners are more soloers then grpers)

I have played both EQ2 and WoW(EQ1 being my first and still favorite game of all time) and i like them both, its just that WoW gets a little bland. At 80 you start raiding, you get locked to the raids, then you do daily quests. Tuesday comes around and its a same all over again. In EQ the content stretched out much wider. EQ doesn't have you go out kill 10 things and come back for almost every quest you get in the game. In EQ there are always things to do, the level cap isn't the end of the line

Hmm, some of those 11 million are paying the equivalent of 6 cents an hour (a few million Chinese), and I'm guessing there that Blizzard turns a blind eye to the gold sellers in return for being able to put WoW in China - hence the colossal amounts of gold spam in WoW.

um yes it is, these were made in late 2005 when this content was NEW. They were not put up here till well past a YEAR after they were made, it was all done in house and for US. I got to say I played a few mmorpg games and I was hooked on EQ1 but more hooked on EQ2 becuase it wasn't hard to understand plus the engine and everything was great. I have so alot of memorys of Eq1 and Eq2 that will be with me forever and I miss it so much. I never tryed WOW only because it looked like it was more for kids with the cartoon look. EQ2 just had great stories and the best raiding zones. I think the only people that didn't like EQ2 that played it were people who did not raid.

As an eq2 player who's only been on a few raids with a few toons lvl 50+ - I gotta say I love eq2. Even without raiding, there's an incredible number of zones now (I guess in the beginning the progression was rather linear, but this has certainly been fixed.) Whether picking up on an lfg or asking in channel for a good solo zone at my level or even tradeskilling, I'm always busy. All I can say in its detriment is that it's not very noob friendsly, but that's what the 1-9 channel is for.

Every Game has its pluses and minuses, every game has its ups and down. Yes WoW has a larger subscription base. I know many that left EQ and EQ2 for WoW, and many that left WoW for EQ2. Both games are completely valid to ME, so please refrain from bashing either here please.

That said, you should be aware if you dont play EQ2 this is more a music video compilation of raid encounters then anything technical about the system; and it was made 2 years ago, many things have changed.

I played WoW for one year and my account with a lvl 70 got hacked I called blizzard to get my account back and they sent me paper work to get my account back i filled it out in completion and i was denied my account so i switched to ever quest 2 last week i love it way more compared to wow. wow was way to repetitive especially at 70. i would recomend this game above wow. wow is a good first mmo. There are actually only 2 dragons in that whole expansion Siyamak and Barakah, you can just kill them in 3 different ways. The easier version inside the town, the contested out on the desert isle, and then inside the pedestal of sky where you fight both at the same time at full power, plus extra shit going on; and yes this was made back in the day when we killed them. This video features all 3 ways of fighting them.
