So I saw a review of the ZX Spectrum version of Light Force, which mentioned the awesome C64 music, so I looked for it, and this was in the related videos.
Needless to say... I'm impressed with this interpretation of Hubbard's original theme.
All of this music and these composers are completely alien to me; I like to listen to these just to get a kick of what people could do with the limited hardware of the time. So to speak.
@q2rlz I guess that's a question of personal taste. :) The mind.in.a.box cover (not remix) has a different "target group", I dare say. I like it too, of course. ^^
I hated this remix. The original is still the best and have every rob hubbard and martin galway tune ever made including the one martin galway didn't want out.. lol
The funny thing is, I played countless C64 games back in the days, but only discovered Lightforce a couple of years ago. It became my favorite C64 tune, which is quite a feat, considering all the good stuff out there. It's phenomenal.
No matter how good a remix is, I simply love the original...
But I have to say I didn't make much music over the past few years, so maybe I'm a bit too rusty to join any band... ;-)
But all the positive feedback to this tune makes me really happy - it's still one of my own personal favourites, both the original and "my" version of it, so it really pleases me, that other people like it as well! Thanks again! ^^
Love this piece of music from the golden c64 times. Very well done. Brings back a lot of good memories. I remember playing this game just to listen to the music. The game itself wasn't really one of my favorites.
Excellent remix and wonderful video editing. Lightforce was and still is one of my favourite C64 tunes, but I was never good at the game. I drive my wife mad by playing various Lightforce remixes, but I just can't help it. The tune is so infectious.
Music is excelent it brings me this 10 minutes back in my childhood Its really nice time Thanks for posting man 10 stars rateing and i own u a beer in the name of that
Hey, thanks man! :) I understand what you mean - I spent so much time in front of the C64 myself... And Rob Hubbard was one of the very first influences for my own first music steps... :)
Thanks - coming from you this means quite a bit for me. :) Even if you're not into games a little background: Back in the late 80's graphics like this were absolute high end for a computer a normal person could afford. :) It was really new and quite fantastic, there was this little box with keys on you could plug into your PC and then you could make music, play games, do math homework... I spent ages in front of games like Lightforce... :)
Thanks a lot! Me too - as I wrote earlier, I spent ages playing it, not the least because I liked the tune so much... :) This is my humble attempt of a tribute and I'm happy people appreciate it. :)

Awesome version!
Would love to hear what you could do to the classic "Terra Cresta" intro music, c64 version.
Keep it up!

Although I am not really into games I like both your music and the video - especially kaleidoscopic effects:)
Music is really cool and uplifting.
