Ha I was on the grand princess two years ago and when we left lisbon we hit a huge sidewind and all the water was virtually emptied out of the pools and we were walking at about a 45 degree ange for around 20 mins. Scary! But its fiiiine!

When on my first cruise when I was 9 the pool was 5-7 ft and it was splashing over like 15 ft and I was stranded in middle of the pool it was 3 pm going to mexico

Ive been on a carnival cruise a year back and we had rough seas turning the kiddie pool on the back deck into a whirlpool type thing where it rotates and splashes never closed but nobody let there kids in it i would get in and go in circles sucked to the middle the main pool/slide on main deck would be very splashy and more fun its also funny watching people stumble every now and again cause of the rocking

they have a pretty crazy whirlpool in one of the water parks in LA... its comparable... my friend literally clamped on me.... and if u are swim to closer the deeper end... most people can't touch the ground n the wave just keeps going.... pretty insane! but fun!

Notice that the pool is surrounded by another recess with over-hanging walls for times just like this. Sometimes rough weather happens so fast there isn't time to drain a pool. With this arrangement they don't have to.

If you're on a fun cruise vacation where you wan't peace, spa, and massages that's for sure! But if you're looking for adventure aboard, it's a lot of fun.
