Nice surprise when I heard Howlin Rain cover our version. It captures the energy and angst we had when we performed it back in 1969. (My nephew Matt was close in his entry below.) The original Finchley Boys (the 4 on Everlasting Tributes) are performing together (for the first time in almost 40 years) on July 10 in Champaign, IL. Outcast will be on the set list.
This song was originally done by the Animals. This is a cover of the Finchley Boy version from the early 70s. The Finchley's did a less psychedelic, more garage-rock version of the song when they still had their original guitar player...
Anybody want to buy The Finchley Boys "Everlasting Tributes cd" for the lowest price? I will be putting it on EBAY today. On amazon it is $125 used. My cd is not a bootleg it is the real deal and it is in mint condition no scratches or smudges. And my price is significantly lower than $125, ill be selling my cd for around $80 so if anyone is interested go to Ebay. And by the way my feedback is 100%, my name is iscream8622 on ebay
Saw The Finchley Boys many times during the late 60s in Indianapolis. They and The Stooges were the heaviests acts going at that time in the US. They used to bring a boa constrictor on stage 5 years before Alice Cooper stole the idea. dowmupcharm, who is your uncle?
That mustve been cool. The Finchley Boys were a great band, i'd like to see more material from them, but who knows if that'll happen. They did play some reunion shows a few years back in Illinois, i'm not sure what they're up to now though.
