  • Chantal Goya was a very pretty girl and she didn't change a lot through time. She just aged gracefully.

  • Yes, a great film, though one indebted to the work of that unsung hero of French cinema, Frederick DuBoddier.

  • Trop Stéréotypé, de plus c'est merdique comme inter-relation, Godard ou pas, le message ne passe pas car menotté dans une situation insultante pour l'intelligence humaine....

  • naturally pretty. sad how so many women look creepy and fake (imo) today

  • I agree!

  • we don't have truly pretty girls like that anymore.

  • brush brush brush brush brush brush brush

  • She's adorable, he's a dullard.

No one would watch if she weren't a delicious pixie.

  • I love this movie...

  • this is hardly my favorite godard film, but that's just saying how great godard is, because it's still great.

  • Yeah, this is very interesting. I'm slow to comprehend, but would like to study Jean Luc Godard films/ideas over time. I read Dostoyevsky also, and much of that too is way over my head, but able at times to gain some comprehension. It would be nice to read greater insight here (in the comments section) in order to learn from those who might have a greater understanding of Jean-Luc Godard.

  • @Ferapont82

    relax

  • I just read Jean-Luc Godard's wikipedia page. Much of it is way over my head, but did catch the reference to American hegemony. I like reading Noam Chomsky, so this is interesting. Also, recall enjoying the American re-make of his (Godard's) film 'Breathless' as a teenager. Recently wondered, when viewing Francoise Hardy videos, if it wouldn't have been a better to have Francoise Hardy with Richard Gere.

  • I don't know. This scene seems okay to me. BTW, Chantel Goya and Marisa Sannia bear some resemblance.

  • Okay, didn't know what I was just commenting on. Just saw another clip from the film. Seems there is deeper meaning.

  • Godard has a rapist's mentality - women are imponderable, somewhat dim teases whose only raison d'etre is to arouse and deny. Then he makes us complicit.

And yeah - what is she OCD with the washing? What the hell was she DOING in there?

  • I love this scene, captures the essence and the nuance of the hesitation and infatuation of the beginning stages of, well lack of a better word, love.

  • She's so CUTE! ^^ She plays really good ;)

  • she's no anna karina, she reminds me of her because of her hair

  • who washes their hands that long?

  • This is such a beautiful movie :)

  • She is CUTE !!! - I love Chantal- you know M.

  • What will make you feel so high and above.

  • an adorable bitch.

  • Chantal Goya is such a bitch in this movie. I really hope that it was Goddard's intention for us not to like her.

  • agreed.

  • yes, but she with a very classic dress sense. I love her dresses.
