  • "I'm no pusher, I never have pushed."

    Travis B.

  • This song has been a part of my life since it came out. Growing up the theme song for me and my 3 best friends. We even sang it together at my daughter's wedding. Will be played at all our funerals. One of the best songs ever. Thanks Kris.

  • "he's a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction"

one of my all time favourite lines in any song

  • @nanagaga2001 My GF dedicated this song (in general) and the quoted line (in specific) to me.

  • taxi driver

  • KRIS IS THE BEST,JUST LISTEN TO THESE WORDS...FROM THE ROCKIN OF THE CRADLE TO YHE ROLLING OF THE HEARSE,THE GOING UP WAS WORTH THE GOING DOWN.....DAMN THATS GOOD

  • Great. My good friend Mick McGrath was found dead in his flat in London and this song says everything about Mick and his life. You write real song Kris

  • What a kick ass song.

  • honeybee56 To drdoyle1000 you smoke too much

  • @drdoyle1000 not even close

  • @finepoint99 Yeah thanks for the correction. I was drunk when I wrote the first comment. See I really think Kris does sing the truth and as you know the truth can hurt, as it purifies one of falseness. Actually I have seen him in concert twice, I do admire him for his talent and compassion towards others, which is something I need to learn.

  • @drdoyle1000

    This is a song.

  • This is a song.

  • @drdoyle1000 thats a shame that you got that from this song. if you had listened with a better spirit within yourself you may be able to hear it the way i do. nowhere does it indicate that the fellow gave up. as a matter of fact the verses flip at the end so to say that life is full of traps so dont beat youself up and give up, because as the last hook says " The going up was worth the coming down"

  • @drdoyle1000 Wow....

I think you need to listen again, sir. Perhaps with a more "Christian" ear.

You seem to have entirely missed what this song is really about...

  • @drdoyle1000 You're wrong, in the end the going up worth coming down. Jesus was at the end to catch him. My advise, lighten up dude!

  • @drdoyle1000 you said Doyle or O'Doyle?????? miau

  • Comment removed

  • @drdoyle1000 Its easy to see your point of view. but remember kris was a poet and a songwriter he didn't write this song to motivate anyone.he wrote about how it is. not to say you should strive for failure. but it certainly gives a clever insight on reality. and i respect him for going there.

  • anjing lo semua gw zata jagoan gw

  • thats because "The Taker" was a Kris Kristofferson song

  • Reminds of The Taker by Waylon Jennings.
