@TheMexicanLynx i was thinking in the suit the actor should be male. outside the suit the actor should be a woman. simply cuz the powersuit hides any female features samus has.

@supersmashbro596 Well, though I'm heavily going for the Prime version of the Power and Varia Suits (which became the ones used in Zero Mission), the suit has very vague femenine cues, such as the hips, and somewhat the chest.

@supersmashbro596 Woops, I forgot what I said months ago about a Tokusatsu film with a man inside the suit. That is really likely, considering how female characters in Super Sentai (Power Rangers), most of the stunt actors inside the suit (indeed, the skirt was to hide the budge), and while there are now more female stunt actresses... most of them are male, so yeah, in a Toku Metroid Film, "Samus" on suit would be a man, and a woman out of suit.

@Garomasta They do that alot, actually. The original Mother (Earthbound Zero) commercial, several Dragon Quest commercials, and the GunHed commercial come to mind with obviously Caucasian actors with their lines being dubbed over into Japanese.

"If they already shot a kickass ad for this game with Caucasian actors speaking English, then why not save thousands in costs and reuse the commercial in the States, UK and elsewhere with the original voice track."

The answer to THAT being: US ad agencies in the 90's thought things had to be satiric and 'extreme' to appeal to young people. Hence all the spastic editing and rap songs back then.
