    My guess is that the rear wheels are rigged with a angular sensor , and the robot knows that it moves forward when the angle is increasing.

  • Wish I knew how the front part is constructed. I can't figure out for the life of me how to set up the NXT to move like that.

  • did you use nxt-g or some other programing language

  • Is this a proper AI script, or does it just 'fake' learning by programming it with a list of things to try? Just curious, no harm intended :)

  • If it's like other Q-learning algorithms, it starts off with a randomized timing and movement of each motor. The robot figures out which movements are not helping it move forward and tries something else. The behaviors that do help it move forward are reinforced.

  • What will you build next time? A T-2000 Terminator???
