there is a new recovery image out cynogen i think, try it out man its way better and might help the stability of your roms

while i was installing using alt s. the update got halfway done then said there was an error on line 80. now im stuck on boot screen? how do i fix this?

take out your battery.. and if you wanna check ur spl/radio u hold end and camera

i got the same problem... i read that u need to have busybox on ur system and type some codes into your console to activate the ext on your sd card... im not sure, still looking for the answer..

for 32a, you dont have to worry about partioning your sd

Taking out your sd card doesnt help..at all..you need a sd card reader

dont worry u can always fix it by deleting anything in youe micro sdcard and put this file in it (DREAIMG.nbh) flash it again and back to new

find a regular cyanogen mod and rename it update.zip and flash it

g1 screen isnt a problem..if you have a sd card reader you can just delete the file and your g1 will be normal again

hey man i just wanna correct you somewhere. since your using vista, you're supposed to rename the update to just UPDATE. on a mac, you rename it UPDATE.ZIP

no, you just rename it update it leaves .zip, i know because im on a vista and my phone works fine.

i didnt do the coding you mentioned when i installed it. Is this completely necessary? I notice its got a bit of a lag and i know this is common with Hero roms if they arent on the HTC Hero. I downloaded swapper but is there anything else i can do to increase the speed? Im only using 5 screens out of 7 and ive got minimal apps downloaded to the phone. Actually i saved and installed the ones i downloaded to the sd card and i "installed" them from there. What else can i do?

Formatting your ext3/2 is what makes it run smoothly. I highly recommend it and I do not recommend swapper because it kills your SD card faster than normal.

ok so ill uninstall swapper but now when i do the coding youre talking about in the vid it does the :sh /system/sd: Permission denied" thing and it wont let me move onto the next line.

I figured it out i think. I used "thegadgetpros fastest running hero rom" tutorial to partition the sd. i ran into a snag since it wiped the sd it didnt run the hero rom so i loaded it from my card reader and THANK GOD I GOT CYANOGEN'S 1.4 recovery image flashed or else i wouldnt have been able to "run any zip" . thank you so much for your advice...i have a 16 gig micro sd so if this doesnt get it running fast I GIVE UP! lol thanks again!

You need to type the whole thing

I am not sure about that one..it isnt anything related to the Hero Rom..but you can activate your g-mail acount without a data plan(if your using pre-paid) by skipping it than connecting to a near wifi connection and than go back to the steps to activate your g-mail account.

I have Rc29 the g1 is unlocked, can I update to cupcake without the gmail activation?

I personally dont like drizzy because it is not as stable as JACxHERO... 1.7 just came out a and I think ima supply a link soon..Drizzy v3 on the other hand is the best Hero rom out there but you need alot of requirments for it.

You need to update your SPL...many people who get that error either didnt do the steps correctly or there SPL isnt correct.

Ok i found and have installed the latest SPL which was 1.33.2005 correct? Latest radio is 2.22.19.26I ? Got them both. Phone is rooted...now im trying to load jac x hero 1.6. renamed it to update. wiped and applied now just waiting. God i hope this works!

Yep ive got root access cause ive got the dudes cupcake installed right now. and yes i renamed it to "update". I know i do have the current SPL / Radio. so what could it be? I formated my sd before i loaded anything onto it. What else could it be?
