There is a software solution for this problem - small utility called BackToSleep will monitor power events of a computer and will send it to sleep mode if it awakes from sleep or hibernate. It protects computer in any case of awakening - software, hardware or even accidental press of a power button.

My problem is the opposite it's stuck on sleep mode, every time I try to wake it then it goes rite bak to sleep says "monitor going to sleep" and it doesn't let me wake it up. I have a video loading on it and if I restart it then I'm goin to have to load it again and it's goin to take forever to load again since I have slow Internet. Can amy1 help please

"Allow hybrid sleep" option is missing under Power options > Advanced settings > Sleep. The only three options available are "Sleep after", "Hibernate after", and "Allow wake timers". please help...... :(((

i think that is for when you are away from home you can wake and access your main pc from another computer. but still a good idea to fix.

@rizamaqbool There is an application preventing sleep. Probably windows media center or sharing files.

i had this problem. so my pluggin for my computer was in an extension. I had a lamp which was connected to the extension and whenever i turned it on it would come out of sleep mode! My friends are in awe

some times when it comes out of sleep mode, i get that anoying watermark. i have to got o my computer properties, or activation to fix it.. any help fo this?

It looks as though my issue is now resolved. Not totally acceptable but I found that if I disable the Mouse and Keyboard from being able to wake the PC then it sleeps fine. Means that I need to bend down to restart it until Microsoft sort this one out. Will post again if the problem is not fixed but it does seem to be.

This fix has not worked for me. As soon as I put my pc to sleep it restarts every time. I have installed the latest drivers for my Nvidia GeForce 880 GT graphics card for Win 7 64 bit and also followed the instructions here and checked to see that the box is now unchecked but still the same problem.

Thankyou thankyou,watching this vid solved my problem in 1 minute after being frustrated by the identical problem for weeks. I must've spent hours swearing at my computer to go to sleep, it didn't help!! If Microsoft doesn't fix this problem by the time Windows 7 goes into general release I would imagine the views on this vid will skyrocket!!!
