No wonder Thecompanycar could hear this thing 4 miles away, even though he was inside his house...This is a 1000C, the loudest Thunderbolt model ever made. These later C series blowers boost these sirens to 130 DBC. All other 1000's are 127 DBC. We've got one of these in Louisville, at Southern High School.
@Siren1000T1 The head may be an older head, but that's definitely a later higher RPM C series blower. It could be that the old blower was replaced somewhere along the way.
I dunno, one of the later brochures says it only gets 126 dBc. However, the manual suggests it gets 128 dBc. Then of course the 1983 brochure said 131 dBc. Federal liked to fib the ratings sometimes, so I think 128 would be more accurate (which is still damn good, mind you). If anyone has any confirmed readings that show it at 130 dBc or above, let me know. :)
that has a fast rotator

@LouisvilleTorn8o This is too early to be a C series. It all has to depend on the weather and terrain conditions mostly.

@LouisvilleTorn8o If you say so. The ID tag says this 1000 is Federal Sign and Signal so that means this siren has to be before 1976.
