@Netaro1000 In the room after the catwalk leading up to the final battle against GlaDos, there are panels on the walls. Shoot the panel two to the right of the door you come out of with both portals. In other words, shoot the panel in the right corner of the wall that the door you enter the room from is on. This is either a glitch or an easter egg that allows you to leave the "box" that the game is contained in. From there, I believe you portal down to an area with a black floor

@HappleProductions and a shaft. The area is a LOOOOOONG ways below you, and is a part of what looks like a blue area, if I remember right (it's been a while since I did this). Now, once you reach the area in question, you have to get into the shaft. Even though it doesn't look like a portal-able area, you can portal onto the side of it. Anyways, it is possible to enter the shaft, and after you do so, you drop right into a room with the cake in it, with lots of cores on shelves.
