Nope 2 R-Welsh battlegroup are part of 1 Mech Brigade, part of the battle group is 2RTR if you count that as a 'heavy unit'.

May i remind you that the Welsh fought with french after that, when they helped a Welshman, Henry Tudor, to the Englsih throne in the War of the Roses at the battle of Bosworth Field.. Lest you all forget what an important part the Welsh have played in BRITISH history.

less than a thousand at rorkes drift m8. only few hundred, less than half a thousand. but the zulus did only have pointy sticks and cowskin shields...it was a great victory but a little one sided. if u want a more cool victory look at isandlwhana from the zulu point of view. beat an entire british army, best in the world. worst defeat we've ever suffered. British army today is best in the world. just smaller than america

both wrong! little over 100 men defended rourkes drift against an estimated 4000 zulus. Mostly English in the regiment not like in the film boyo! And the worst Defeat the British had was the surrender at singapore at the beginning of WWII.

True. In that case isandlwana is the worst defeat (the battle that happened earlier the same day). About 1500 British troops were killed by spear carrying Zulu warriors. This was due to poor siteing of ammunition wagons to the rear of the british formations. Ammunition ran out, and not for the first time, the British soldier fought to the last man with butt and bayonet.
