  • Surprised that LSub has managed to destroy this song!

  • Lovely upload friends

  • ..and do you think these people care about what the song teaches....I for example am having great difficulty in believing that Remo Fernandez sees his mother in all women except his wife( god knows even if he has a wife)...please dont pretend guys, no matter how much you jump you can never be like NarsidasJi and no you cant leave your old lifestyle and adopt the Vaishnav way.

  • This is not a new age song Damn It....just because Gandhi Bapu used to sing it does not mean it is a secular song...The great Hindu saint Narsi Mehta has put his heart in writing such great poetry and these duffers turn it into a Party Mix...Have some respect and please try to understand the deep meaning of the lyrics before turning it into a dance number...Nothing against Dance Numbers but this is too much..

  • @Galavya41 what makes you think this is a dance number? look at the names of the people involved in this project: pt jasraj, kavita krishnamurthy, hariharan, l subramaniam, ustad sultan khan...

  • i feel its above average

  • This bhajana is not really meant as an entertainment. Rather it is a meditation and a reminder that we should have a daily practice which elevates our consciousness. I prefer a rendition which suits that understanding.

  • awesome...................

  • Why did they have to mess with the original soulful tune? They could've retained that in remix...

  • Disappointing. No matter how great a singer is, song not sung properly is a failure. This version is as good (or rather bad) as Sonu Nigam's version @ Harvard.

As someone mentioned, this is not a fast-track Bhajan... both Gandhiji and Narsinha Mehta would die of heart-attack after listening to this "westernized track".

If anyone knows the lyrics, they know what I am talking about!

  • WONDERFUL

  • I love the collaborative work done here... so sweet and beautiful

  • GOOD STUFF DR..SUBRAMANIAM-BUT I LIKE THE ORIGINAL VERSION BETTER! PERHAPS IT GROWS ON YOU!

  • An open mind appreciates new versions anytime. i didn't like it the first time I listened to it as my mind is tuned to the original version. But I admire this now, it's got me addicted to it. Thanks for sharing. I love the violin, it makes my mind sink in.

  • Beautiful..

  • Those who would criticize should contemplate the words to the bhajan again.

  • I like it. It is still not modern music. Yeah, soulful is a good word for it.

  • Innovative attempt. But I believe these songs should be left alone. As one of friends once said "Perfection cannot be bettered".

  • this is sooooo stupid, even gandhiji's ears in heaven must be disturbed by this so called '' improvised'' version

  • Of course the original was great, but this version is just a chance for all of these artists to come together on 1 project.

  • this is an example of why some things are best left the way the are

  • Wow ! When there is mention of God, it will always be divine, no matter which or what faith. !

God bless even those with crooked tongue !

  • absolutely divine!

  • Absolutely fabulous and so so divine

  • there was no need to remakethis famous song. the old verson was a real beauty. I sorry to say that I can't appritiate your experiment.

  • i agree

  • why play with such a melodious original composition ??

  • Because L.Subramaniam is capable of doing that. He is one of the most knowledgeable persons in the field of Creative Music and his field of expertise ranges from Pure Indian Classical to Esoteric Jazz, Western Classical and to where not.

The present version of Vaishnav Jan To was not intended for commercial exploitation. Rather it is just a different colour, keeping the theme of the main music quite intact.

  • ॐ भारत ॐ

  • where can I get the mp3 for this?

  • Way too go Seetaa. I look forward to hearing the entire album.

  • Hats off to Dr Subramaniyam!!!

  • This is wonderful music....soulful!
