From what I have read, Dave Clark took advantage of the group and paid them as "employees". Mike Smith, the heart and soul of the group was never given his due. He was the main talent, and without him, there wouldn't be the DC5. He was one of the greatest voices of the 60"s groups; May he RIP. He is truly missed. A great talent and true gentleman.
