  • BEAUTIFUL Locks, I usually don't even like the really thick locks but urs are a true inspiration u rocking them to the fullest ! Well I have a question because I have really tiny locks... i guess due to how my loctician started them off (comb twist) and the parts where not really big. So now I want them thicker like really the ones in the front, back and sides are really skinny and in the middle kinda thick. What do you suggest I do to make them thicker? I thought of combining them, but how?

  • your locks are dope, im goin to restart my dreads soon since i have too many and they are too skinny. I was wondering about how many do u have and how did you get the so thick was it a method u used to start them or something else thanks

  • I'm sorry what were you saying? Oh yea oil and rub in to dreads ok thanks

  • awesome tutorial. I am so glad you are reping the locked sistah's in the media. Blessings as you tread the way for the next generation of women and girls of color in thier journey to self acceptance, self love and natural beauty!

  • wow i feel very inspired because i've been growing my locs since i was 8 and now im 17 and i love how your trying to crossover into the modeling industry and having natural hair :) ..!!

  • cute!

  • what are you mixed with?

  • how about some lock styles. Stick with it girl friend, and I will hang in there with you, its all about the information you are giving--- not the back ground appearance.

  • Thanks for the retwisting tips! I took down my 6 year old locks early this year and wore my hair free and natural for about 4 months only to miss my locs again! So I've decided to lock my hair again. i started with two-strand twists this time. They are nearly 2 months old now :) How did you start your locks? Also how did you control the firzzies in your baby locs? I finger twist gently even though i am told to keep out of them ;)

  • u r very beautiful

  • 10 minutes?? omg thats a world record lol! I use the same twisting method as you, i just go from back to front.

  • @pinkwolf78

    Thank you!!! ;)

I would not wash my hair more than once a week. I feel like over washing can strip natural oils from my scalp that can help protect my hair against breakage. I mostly use Allways Natural hair products (that is one of the only brand of products my mother uses for her locs) I was raised on Allways. I also use Dr. Wood's Pure Almond or Peppermint Soap, it is all natural (you can also use it to wash up with, YAY). I think I will make my next video a Q&A.

  • @WahidahFowler Wow, sister you are too gorgeous, it's so unfair. Lol. Love your accent too

  • this is still a useless video. Any unnatural ingredient, especially those with drying agents are NOT good for your NATURAL hair.

If you want to use the harmful items from Walgreens, Walmart, etc, that's your choice.

Amazes me how some people refuse to accept information.

BTW, her locks do NOT look healthy. Looks like there is breakage in several areas. However, too many focusing on her breast to notice. And, yes, I do have beautiful, healthy locks, which are maintained by a locologist.

  • Comment removed

  • I couldn't even focus on da locks lls

  • great video..mite i add yu are very sexy :)

  • ur locs are so beautiful

  • @cynmille2000 Thank you xoxo

  • This video is useless!

Folks, NEVER use style gel or anything else from Walgreens, Walmart, etc on your locks. Product has drying ingredients, which makes your locks brittle and break. Use ONLY PRODUCTS WITH NATURAL INGREDIENTS!

Why are you braiding your hair before locking? Doesn't make sense.

Sistah, focus more on your locks than showing your breast!

  • @russell163 It must not be that useless anytime her locs are down to her back. What may work for her hair may not work for yours and vice versa

  • Shaggy ☼◄๑۩۩๑►☼ Locks 5 ★☆★☆★}}}

  • Damn! Looks like it hurts. My friend is a rasta, he's had his loc's since he was 11.

  • Your locs are amazing. Truly, truly an inspiration. I will be celebrating my 1st year loc'd next week and love to find pics and youtube videos of women with locs. I am definitely a subscriber now and am looking forward to your video about growing up with locs. Thanks for sharing!

  • @InquisitivelyMe Thank you! Congratulations on your first year! Wishing you the best on your loc journey. Please stay in touch, will be posting more videos soon ;)

  • i love ur locs but them tig ol bitties boy i tell ya.....my my my they sure are nice

  • This video was great, Wahidah! Thank you for these lock advice videos; I definitely appreciate the POSITIVITY. I made the decision to lock my hair about a year ago; it was a tumultuous one and I did take my locks out several times, but after really exploring my desire to lock I am confident that I will continue.

  • Simply gorgeous! How often do you retwist?

  • nice knockers...oh and uhh sweet locs ! ! !

  • DOO GROW ISNT GOOD FOR UR HAIR!!!!

dont use products w.mineral oil ppl

  • @JamaicanCutie18 that specific one doesnt have mineral oil in it says so on the bottle I use that one too

  • @JamaicanCutie18

Soybean Oil, Soy Methyl Ester, Sweet Almond Oil, Oat Extract, Oat Protein, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Shea Butter Extract, Fragrance (Parfum), Propylparaben, BHA, Tea Tree Oil, Retinol (Vitamin A), Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2) (Vitamin D), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Matricaria Extract, Goldenseed Extract, Hops Extract, Soap Bark Extract, Cherry Bark Extract, Calendula (Calendula Officinalis) Flower Extract, Henna Extract, Horsetail Extract, Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius) Oil

  • @shamia3121 Oh wow, where is the video describing her loc journey?

  • @curleedst Will post it soon!

  • i wud love a loc journey vid showcasing ur many styles youve worne thruout the years. n also wat is the style u wore n that commercial at the end was that a twist out w rods or what?? anyways it was purdyy. n also ur decision on why u remained loc into ur adult hood. Sorry if im askin to much i just adore ur style;-)

  • i admire women who have natural hair and locs. you are a beautiful woman and i like the thickness of your locs. but good video. alot of helpful tips. i used to use the doo grow oil. it did its job. i use the jamaican mango and lime island oil mostly.

  • Thanks for the info Wahidah I love the thickness of your locs.

  • are those real?

  • Looking good Wahida :D.

  • Wahidah, do you workout??...and you got pretty skin

  • do you have any pics of when ur locs were shorter? How many locs do you have? I am just trying to see if there is ANY possibility that my locs may look like urs someday!

  • @nadiavarela83 Thank you ;)

  • This is a great vid....ur LOCS r BEAUTIFUL.....loved u in the end great look.....

  • @AblessedQueen Thank You so much sis ;)

  • And if you can also talk about being a young girl with locks and your experiences. My daughter who is 7 has locks too and it would be nice for her to see your point of view since you had locks young :) (I know this from your myspace page) thanks :)

  • @tbey82 Thank you for the suggestion sis. I will try to post a video tomorrow regarding that ^_^ I seen the video of your daughter she is so cute...

  • @WahidahFowler Thanks :)

  • No this was a great video! I can't believe you said it took you 10 minutes! It always takes me at least an hour and a half to do my own. about 30 min to do my daughters. Do a video on you hair care routine what you wash with how often you retwist, how many locks you have.

  • so when your over with this hair style, you gotta shave the head right?

  • Comment removed

  • @omnipotentRB @omnipotentRB No you do not have to shave you head if you want to take them out. That would be extreme. You can comb them out, or grow your hair out for about six months and them cut the locked portion. But for most people who wear locks do not consider it a hairstyle, but a lifestyle, part of their culture. I doubt she would be cutting them.

  • @tbey82 dont comb em out.. i wish i woulda cut mine off instead of combing em out cuz it fucked up my scalp and now that i wanna start growing em again i cant since my hairline is all fucked up

  • it didn't suck it was really helpful because i retwist my locs myself and was never able to achieve that neatness that i did when i was getting it retwisted my 1st year by a professional...i saved it to my faves to refer to

    Thanks!

  • @sandyc90 No, thank you for watching ;) it makes me feel really good to know that you felt that the video was helpful! ^_^
