I killed so many of these dog's with my gun it isn't funny. Here in central US people just drop them off into the fields and drive away for reasons I haven't a clue. One day I was cornered in a field with two dog's while I was out hunting. I killed them both with my 10mm solid cast ammo when there came loads more from up over the rising. I destroyed every last one of them! 35 I think, or more. All Pit's... crazy!

They are not, however, bred to be aggressive toward people. The ones that attack people have been abused and trained to be vicious.
Pits are no more likely to attack people than any other breed. The only thing is, because they have such strong necks and jaws, an attack by them is more likely to do damage.
@American5585 My friends 2 pits are the SWEETEST dogs on the planet (even more so than my pug). Not every dog is attractive to every person. Most people would say my pug is ugly. American Canine Temperament Testing Association results show pit bulls ranking 4th in all breeds tested with 95% passing which in my opinion says a lot for the breed when all breeds combined only had 77% passing rate... All the unstable dogs that you hear rather it be bully breed or not come from unstable owners
@LWoodDaPitBull not to mention that bite statistics are incredibly unreliable as there are many bites (within family and so on) that are not reported. also there is no definitive breed distinction. i have dealt with dogs involved in bite cases that are labeled as "pitbull type" that are clearly not pitbulls but rather some mix of other terriers and larger dogs.
@csisoldier Just like a child if raised being taught to be a certain way it's going to reflect on the future of that kid. You teach a dog the wrong mannerism of aggression you'll have a loose canon which a dog don't have to be taught aggression because they are naturally programmed to do what they do it's all based on how you teach them to do it and what makes a Pit Bull "worse" (better in my opinion) is their dedication eagerness to please which is often mistaken for aggression
@csisoldier instead of looking up pit bull for being aggressive attacking someone look up one that has been taught to do tricks and just watch how he or she looks the owner in the face the whole time excited to be given the next command not only that but watch the dogs body language and see the energy put forth to do what is expected from him/her and you be amazed by what you see when looking past the media made pit bull and seeing a Pit Bull for what it's really worth

@Aonexia yes this dog was originally bred for fighting. but remember fighting was completely when the breed was conceived, animal, or human aggression outside of the ring was not accepted. pitbulls are incredibly eager to please and when not in an aggressive environment love being around humans. although same sex animal aggression is typical but very easily managed. and untill you have worked with these dogs, (training and rehabiliting) for 10+ years, dont speak about a breed you dont know well.

I come from the sort of place people just love to buy rottweilers, pitbulls, staffies and dobermen for 'protection'.

@vennylos Right mate! Well said... this is why I carry with me a Glock 10mm with two mag's loaded with solid led ball for just this and more mate! Kill the leader and then pick the pack off with a fast turn 180 for the closer one's.
Did this one before and all 38 dog's died a horrific death while in the bush. I felt like a BOSS!!! Reloaded all mag's from my supply in the pack and went back to camping for the weekend.....:) -Oh, the fun times of youth.

One dog I grabbed its lower jaw and swung it's body in the air and unto the green Earth. I had its heavy body pinned to the ground using my left knee as a brace; as I rappidly placed two bullet into two dog's that figured I was wounded. It struggled to get back up in panic and that of shier rage and disbelief that I had the audacity to pin it unto the ground while my hand within its jaws.
Frantically it struggled to get up before I placed one load into its skull bone forward from my hand.

The AKC rating for one of those breeds- "The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is extremely courageous and obedient, highly intelligent and affectionate with a sense of humor. @American5585 you are completely uneducated about this breed of dog. the are incredibly bright, only aggressive if poorly raised, and less likely to bite than most other popular breeds. they are also easy to train, and VERY eager to please. and if you actually did your research you'd find that pitbulls are considered the best therapeutic dogs available and not only used for fighting... please, do not speak about a breed you have no knowledge of.

@ddfrig your comment suggests it is just that not fact just a comment. but giving you the benefit of the doubt. i have been training pitbulls for over 10 years now, and saying that pitbulls "are all around agressive" is ignorant to say the least. yes i have been bitten by dogs i have rehabilitated and dealt with very aggressive dogs, but it has ALWAYS been owner fault that caused the dog to act this way. and after proper training and exercise i am here to inform you, they are in fact, angels.

@csisoldier They really aren't that's just what the media shows you don't hear about it when a mutt bites someone or a pack of feral dogs attack and maim someone. American Canine Temperament Testing Association results show pit bulls ranking 4th in all breeds tested with 95% passing which in my opinion says a lot for the breed when all breeds combined only had 77% passing rate... All the unstable dogs that you hear rather it be bully breed or not come from unstable owners

@LWoodDaPitBull not to mention that bite statistics are incredibly unreliable as there are many bites (within family and so on) that are not reported. also there is no definitive breed distinction. i have dealt with dogs involved in bite cases that are labeled as "pitbull type" that are clearly not pitbulls but rather some mix of other terriers and larger dogs.

@csisoldier Just like a child if raised being taught to be a certain way it's going to reflect on the future of that kid. You teach a dog the wrong mannerism of aggression you'll have a loose canon which a dog don't have to be taught aggression because they are naturally programmed to do what they do it's all based on how you teach them to do it and what makes a Pit Bull "worse" (better in my opinion) is their dedication eagerness to please which is often mistaken for aggression

@csisoldier instead of looking up pit bull for being aggressive attacking someone look up one that has been taught to do tricks and just watch how he or she looks the owner in the face the whole time excited to be given the next command not only that but watch the dogs body language and see the energy put forth to do what is expected from him/her and you be amazed by what you see when looking past the media made pit bull and seeing a Pit Bull for what it's really worth

@Aonexia yes this dog was originally bred for fighting. but remember fighting was completely when the breed was conceived, animal, or human aggression outside of the ring was not accepted. pitbulls are incredibly eager to please and when not in an aggressive environment love being around humans. although same sex animal aggression is typical but very easily managed. and untill you have worked with these dogs, (training and rehabiliting) for 10+ years, dont speak about a breed you dont know well.

im sorry youre so blinded by ignorance that you cant accept that the breed does not determine the animals behavior as much as the actions of the owner do. if you were a good trainer you would realize this, and having a masters in psychology i would also assume this would be well understood. everything is a product of its environment and parent/owner.. the same is true for a human child. and i assume you feel the same about rots, shepherds, and bulldogs then? ignorance is bliss i guess?

@Spike83Z Unfortunately their reputation means that often they are bought by the type of people who want to raise them aggressively so a lot of the time it is understandable to have a healthy fear of them. I come from the sort of place people just love to buy rottweilers, pitbulls, staffies and dobermen for 'protection'.

Also explain why I was able to teach my dog the difference between a cat, bird, rabbit, dog, weapon, threatening gestures, and to watch out or look for each of them on command plus a lot more within the course of 6 months or less not mention basic commands or everything was in German not only that he also understood English commands too

Very good demonstrating of imposing your will and not showing weakness. Dogs have the innate instinct of pack leadership, domination, and how other dogs react based on social hierarchy. Any dog that accosts you, looking for trouble, should be met with the same display this guy showed. The moment you show fear is the moment the dogs realizes you're weaker than it... and then it's suppertime.
