Not really...most of it's based on a story called Mu Dan Ting, about Liu Meng Mei and Du Li Niang, two lovers. Zai Mei Bian is where Du Li Niang got buried after she died from depression, and where Liu Meng Mei then "exhumed" her after finding a portrait of her. A love story, basically.
