  • AW.......I have 2 newfies. fun fact about me and my newfies: one of my newfies, Greta taught me how to walk when i was a baby!!!!!!! no joke!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @iepernay

This is interesting, they are so steady and will support a youngster. Thanks for your post, glad you are still with newfies.

  • @epicgiraffelolz

Thanks, that is a lovely combination. Good luck and best regards

  • He is adorable..I have a Newfoudland he is wonderful. We walk three miles every day and someone will always stop me and tell me he is beautiful..He is wonderful..

  • @thebestitalianever

Thanks for your comment. Yes, it is so wonderful when the public appreciate them. Berkeley is now a big boy and escaped the other day and followed the kiddies to school; he loves children. However, on the local radio it was reported that a large panther was near the school and people should be careful. Someone took him to our local vet who scanned his microchip and phoned us.

  • What a wonderful dog! How is he doing? I LOVE these dogs. My mother's friend has a Brown Newfoundland. She says he is HUGE! I haven't yet seen him, but I can't wait to! His name is Clifford. (The big BROWN dog :D) I really want one of these dogs. My mom says she is considering it. Can you tell me, is it a whole lot of work caring for these dogs? I'm sure the work is worth it because they are so lovable, but is it alot of effort on the owner's part?

    Thanks,

    EJ

  • @ejello2 Many thanks for your kind comments. Berkeley is a large boy now and can be seen on several of my videos. He has qualified for Crufts, has certificates for Heelwork to Music and Dressage and is an excellent water and carting dog. Newoundlands require a lot of work, regular exercise and training and please set aside a lot of time for grooming as they can harbour parasites in their thick coats. Usually very gentle, but can be naughty and playfully destructive, but very lovable.

  • @getawayman1 Oh ok. Thanks for the info. Hey, also I was wondering whether you have had any experience with Laborador Retrievers at all? If so, I was wondering whether it is TOO big of a jump from a Lab, which I previously owned, to a Newfoundland?

  • @ejello2 Sorry, I am not really competent to speak about this breed and would hate to misinform you. Have a chat with their breed society representatives. Best of luck.

  • @getawayman1 Thank you.

  • @ejello2 I have a Golden Retriever and they are fantastic and a friend has a newfie, and it is not a huge leap, They SHED SHED SHED, but are about the same temperament GENERALLY SPEAKING.

  • @LittleMissRed90 Thank you so much! I am still considering, but not quite sure. Anyways, thanks for the advice!

  • che tenero!!!!!!

  • @mariangela866 Thank you for your comment. He is a big boy now.

  • giant labradors! i want one so bad

  • @MPSecare Yeah. He is very big now, two years old. Thanks for writing in.

  • do these dogs drrop alot of hair?

  • @new9876 They certainly do. Every day I combe out loads.

  • God, the toys are bigger than the puppy . . . that won't last very long, not if it's a newfoundland ^_^

  • Thanks for the comment. Unlike Newfoundlands he is very gentle with his toys. He is 65 kilos now and shares those toys with his 9 week old half siblings.

  • I just loved this video and thought the music was extremely beautiful! Very thoughtfully and artistically done!

    Love,

    Tina and Chandi.

  • Thanks Tina for your valued comment. Great to hear from you and your truly amazing Chandi.

  • Many thanks for the comment Sozu. Good to hear from you. Best wishes.

  • lovely dogs i love newfoundland but skip the idiotic music the next time , ps kiss those u have left from me xD

  • Thanks HaikuBling for the supportive comments. I suppose it is training but I don't really distinguissh between bonding, playing and training. As for the carting; Teddy has a test coming up and he was trying three point turns. So I thought the puppy might just like the ride. I teach them to follow my hands, initially with milk on my fingers, so they never think they are being trained. And sometimes we just fool around. Thanks for your interest.

  • Best one yet! The cart riding is so cute--- but my friend thinks the skateboarding was COOL! We never knew you started training when they're so little.
