A permit and a licence is for concealed carry.

Think about it this way. Does one need a licence or a permit to exercise their 1st amendment right to free speech? No... The 2nd amendment is no different from the 1st.

Carrying a firearm isn't like driving a car. Driving a car is a government granted privilege. Carrying a firearm is a God granted right. There is a difference.

The 2nd amendment means exactly what it says. Government shall NOT infringe on a citizen's individual rights.

Does one have to have government permission to buy a car? No. A car is personal property and one has a right to its use and enjoyment as his own property to use as it is intended to be used. If one can own a car without government permission, but cannot use it for its intended purpose ( travel, which is a right, not a privilege) without government permission then government is infringing on a property right and travel right, which are a citizen's individual rights.

The way I see it:

A drivers license gives the individual the permission to use a car on a public way or highway.

The government isn't prohibiting unlicensed travel, as I can, and have, walked freely between states.

The state is only limiting you from operating a motor vehicle on their property. (the public roadway system)

Driving a car is todays ordinary means of travel I can give you a 1000 pages of argument on that one ! and only Fed highways can be mandated and their would still be a argument on that all laws are ambig. I drove with my own Const. lic with a UCC # and a home made tag even cops dont understand law and they look for those with an 80 iq so they wont fall out of order and sit in their crusier all day just like Cpa's think its law for income tax their all fed school'd.

You are so right ! my driver lic for many years was self issued with my UCC # and I made my own plate I soon found out though I would rather just pay the dam $36 and not sit in Court all day and they loved it because my last name was in the W 's ! and they took full advantage of drying up my spare time even cops dont know the law jsut like CPA;s thier all trained by the FEDS I hate em

Mr Bones your wrong about driving a car and it being a privladge have you ever taken it to court ? I mean, it's not hard to understand how one would not need a license in a truly free society, but ain't that kinda like the blatantly unconstitutional individual federal tax laws? you dont need a lic. for a gun in most states and in most states you only need a permit to carry the gun concelled only two I think allow you to carry it outside clothing , the facts are gun carry makes the work safer its proven over and over take the citz. guns and crime goes through the roof in every case ,. In Fl we now carry concelled and have for long time and no one gets robed or murdered if your packing ! its a wonderful thing and you should to ! never be a victom

I can't open or conceal carry in Illinois, but I can legally carry around my AK47 in a case with a zipper and have a loaded mag as long as it isn't in the rifle at the time...same can be said about a handgun. Hmmm... is that one second it takes to be locked and loaded really worth the legislation?

it will take you longer than one second to pull it out load and aim so in those 2 seconds plus you're dead so yeah it matters.

keep thinking that way a lot of people wished they went and got a conc. carry and learned to use it when a bunch of thugs came in to a Rest and ordered everyone face down last time I heard that they were over heard they had 8 and only 7 bullets ! imagine being in that group ? where do you get all those seconds , loading etc? I can pull and ready it in 1 sec flat ! having a weapon is what stopped a home invastion 9 yrs ago I ran to my room and still had time .hope you nvr c that.

You could take stills of the cop with the camera and he can't do anything about it but cover his face :)

As it is, it seems you're within your rights to audio record once he's informed, but it may get you arrested for no reason to be released later without charges. Hopefully that will soon change.

Open carry is difficult in CA. The gun must be unloaded, and can't be carried within 1,000 feet of any school. Well, in my small town there's a school right outside of my front door...and all around town. The unloaded gun must be transported in a locked metal box in the trunk of a car. And the rules for a CW Permit...forgetaboutit!
