You guys should put a lot more of search terms. I've watched this once, then I've been looking for it for AGES to show to my friends, but Google couldn't help me until I started searching specific sites in which I might have seen this. Eventually I found hackaday, but I spent nearly 20 hours googling along a few weeks. Great job, though.
Sweet! This is so cool. I am just 13 years old but know binary. I am actually making a 2bit mechanical computer. This is awesome!!! Keep up the good work! :-)
@stdusrname Thanks! This one is almost 4x8 feet in size.
No plans yet. While this one does work, it took a lot of fussing to get it that way. We don't publish instructions about how to make something until we're sure that the plans are *good enough* that someone could easily follow them and expect to make a working machine-- no one benefits when we publish prematurely. Also, we don't normally publish our how-to guides on Instructables, but rather on our own site ( evilmadscientist ).

Why is it that just looking at those two people, I could tell that they were programmers? Oh yeah, they *look and dress like college-age computer programmers*. (eye-roll)
"Dear Programming culture: We get it. You're 'independent thinkers'. Hooray for you. But seriously. Grunge Geek was 15 to 20 years ago. Yeah! 1994 was 17 years ago! So, please adopt a new "nerd-dork" dress code. You all look uncomfortably ridiculous."
@mintchocolatebear Actually, neither of us are programmers. Why is it that people make stupid assumptions and snide comments? Oh yeah, they're just rude commenters on youtube, with *nothing to contribute to society*. (eye-roll)
Now figure out how to add some RAM and ROM to it, and having it run a small program :D

Awesome build. Do you have dimensions and possibly a instructable on how to make? Especially considering you're showing it at Maker Fair.

how long does it last on one charge? Does it work with USB 2.0?
finnsia 8 months ago 7
@finnsia Not so good with USB 2.0. I suspect that the data rate may be a bit slow. Seems to last pretty well on a single charge of billiard balls.
