Mike D is not being intellectually honest claiming that teh economic crisis is due to deregulation that occured in 'last 8 years'. deregulation goes back decades...and the democrats in congress blocked attempts by Clinton and the Repubs to address specifics (fred and fan) and tighten restrictions. In '92, Dem Congress mandated that Fannie and Freddie increase their purchases of mortgages for low-income and medium-income borrowers.1993-97 home loans grew by 72% for those defined as 'low income'
