I arch my back that is why my stomach looks big, I don't eat eat mcd's, and since this video i have lost weight and trying to get lean again, but even guys fatter then me got to work there butts off to be strong, and eating mcd's won't make you strong, you still have to eat fairly well. Nothing I can do about my arm length, I can't magically grow them to be longer to make the lift more challenging, but hey being taller is an advantage in other sports like football or basketball it balances out.
@WeightLifterNerd dude's just being an asshole. nice lift, you and i are pretty close in size so i appreciate what you accomplished. my bench sucks, maybe you can give me pointers.
you need to arch more. your hands need to be wider. you need to tuck your elbows more. put your feel flat on the floor and alittle farther out so you can use leg drive too. im doing 500 at 290
@WeightLifterNerd im not sure how many inches apart. but i put my fingers on the markers. then you need to work on your back to get that arch higher. its not hard to do, use pvc pipe
its pretty wide if you look at some of my more recent videos, I think the widest you can grip in most feds is 32 inches, depending on what barbell I use, my fingers may be completely outside the rings, or two fingers inside the rings or outside the rings.
I could care less about what I can unrack on my own my goal is only to bench it, I am a powerlifter, even if I could unrack weights by myself I still would use a spotter its safer in the end.
I wish I was benching this much when I a was a kid, I just have a spotter give me a liftoff to unrack it, you should post a video someday of your 425 bench.
in powerlifting this form is fine, I have competed in meets and this form has always passed. I am a powerlifter and my goal is to move the weight possible with whatever technique or form moves the most weight that is allowed in powerlifting. using this technique allows me to move the most weight so therefore I use it.
yeah i understand pressing 350 thats where im at now, the reason i wont post a video is im a very humble modest guy at my gym and i know others would really consider me of being a show off if i videotaped im not jocking you though its a good lift. You'll find it very easy to get your strength back when your done cutting if your eating and resting enough but prepare to lose some and then when you push your self it will comeback and youll look bigger than ever cause youll be leaner
I think keeping a video log is great, not only will I have records of my best lifts, but I can always observe my technique and form, and improve on it by watching my log, also I do tutorials on exercises to help others that want to get in shape.
Lucky for me I have a lot of fat to lose, so hopefully as I lose weight I hope to not burn that much muscle, my best bench was 300 at 165 pounds, I am hoping I can still hit 315-330 if i ever get back down to 185-175 pounds, but only time will tell.
Not sure lol, I would like to hit them weighing lighter then currently amI can tell ya that. Maybe around 210-200 pounds if I can shed down there, but I would like to just hit them at any body weight regardless, lucky for me I have plenty of fat to shed, so hopefully if do get lighter I will just shed fat and not muscle.
I haven't been doing cardio lately because I have a powerlifting meet coming up, and do not want to risk losing any strength. But after it I may hit cardio again.
well then don't expect huge gains if your doing cardio because you can ask any powerlifter how bad it is i say you can get a away with cardio maybe 2 or 3 being the most times a week high intensity for like no more than 20 minutes but to get lean without losing mass and strength all comes down to diet and determination diet being the primary factor
My bench is poor like 170 hope to improve it. :(

This video was old, I grip 29.5 inches now, I do tuck in my elbows now, and that is as much as I can arch.

say no to cardio just eat right and the fat will come off cardio is very detrimental to strength
zachnutts 2 years ago
nah I really need to get back into cardio, my weight is not very healthy, and I am picky when it comes to diet.

Yeah I am well aware of that, after my competition I want to focus more on losing the weight and getting the muscles back I once had or some of them.
