I know what you mean e12433. It's always like that as a NHL & Olympic fan. I want the Red Wings to win the Cup, but equally want the U.S. as an American to win Gold. It often means rooting for then against the very same players. The Wings always have alot of international players. The Swedish team that won Gold in Turin had five Wings on it. It was weird to root against Lindstrom, Franzen, Holmstrom, etc. In 2002 it was real weird rooting against Yzerman & Shanahan in the final vs Canada
