Basing all of our future scientific knowledge upon other "known" supposed "facts" (it is known because we call it a scientific law and therefore it must be correct and be the foundation of everything else) only allows us to stay in a confined area and incapable of exploring all of the universe's (and our own individual) potentials. The problem with those who do not understand The Secret is that they do not find a law of the universe credible until all scientists agree and say that it is indeed true. However, the main issue with this is that there have been COUNTLESS times in history in which conventional knowledge was based on complete bullshit, but everyone believed it! An enlightened person comes to a point where they intimately understand that in the greater picture, things have no value in themselves; only our true nature does. And when you discover that, you find that you always had just what you needed all long.
When one is enlightened ( and we all will be eventually) we realize fully our true nature to the point that the material world has no hold on us any longer. Truly, to be enlightened is to be in the world but not of the world. Historical examples are Jesus of Nazareth ( Remember, he didn't start Christianity), Gautama Siddartha (Come to think of it, he didn't start Buddhism) and maybe more recently, Meher Baba. They all came with the same message, beyond religion.

Have you even read the book? I've read it multiple times and apply it to my life appropriately. It gives you a general idea of how to use the law of attraction in your daily life. There is ONE CHAPTER about how to create more monetary wealth for yourself.

The remaining chapters in the book explain how to apply The Secret to RELATIONSHIPS, HEALTH, the WORLD, and LIFE IN GENERAL. I am capitalizing these subjects so you read the important aspects of what I am saying instead of thinking that the problems that are related to modern capitalism and our fucked-up American society pertain to The Secret. They are almost completely unrelated.

I was thrilled to find this clip. When The Secret was first released, my dearest friend got a copy and shared it. I immediately ordered 3 copies for myself and as gifts. That wonderful bit had been edited out of the ones I had. I was terribly disappointed as I have been listening to Abraham/Esther HIcks for decades. I found out later that Esther was edited out because she channels Abraham. Amazing. So to Glendis 1, you are lucky to have the early version.

These ideas have been discussed in modern times since the beginnings of New Age, as well as on numerous occasions in history in various movements. I don't object to this attractive presentation, but really it's just a flashy way of presenting the same school of thought.
I like how they gave it a serious feel, while still making it simple enough to be understood by people who don't follow the philosophy, but I still found "the Secret" to be a... perhaps naive presentation.

An enlightened person comes to a point where they intimately understand that in the greater picture, things have no value in themselves; only our true nature does. And when you discover that, you find that you always had just what you needed all long.

When one is enlightened ( and we all will be eventually) we realize fully our true nature to the point that the material world has no hold on us any longer. Truly, to be enlightened is to be in the world but not of the world. Historical examples are Jesus of Nazareth ( Remember, he didn't start Christianity), Gautama Siddartha (Come to think of it, he didn't start Buddhism) and maybe more recently, Meher Baba. They all came with the same message, beyond religion.

Even a wise human would have secret desires and when corrupted with such power they would try to fulfill those desires. This is also impossible to accomplish BECAUSE the human mind IS corrupted, and in order to accomplish this you would not only need to be a genius but also a pure sole with no outside desires affecting your thoughts.

The remaining chapters in the book explain how to apply The Secret to RELATIONSHIPS, HEALTH, the WORLD, and LIFE IN GENERAL. I am capitalizing these subjects so you read the important aspects of what I am saying instead of thinking that the problems that are related to modern capitalism and our fucked-up American society pertain to The Secret. They are almost completely unrelated.

I was thrilled to find this clip. When The Secret was first released, my dearest friend got a copy and shared it. I immediately ordered 3 copies for myself and as gifts. That wonderful bit had been edited out of the ones I had. I was terribly disappointed as I have been listening to Abraham/Esther HIcks for decades. I found out later that Esther was edited out because she channels Abraham. Amazing. So to Glendis 1, you are lucky to have the early version.

There is something about Esther Hicks (&Abraham) that doesn't set right with me. Something just doesn't ring as truth. I have tried to understand what it is and I have just came to the conclusion that I need to listen to my intuition and so I don't promote her in my holistic practice. Just my opinion. :)

I understand why they left this out. It is better understood with further investigation. I, continued on to research quantum mechanics and discovered much valuable information after seeing the secret. I have awakened to the true reality. If I would have initially seemed this in the secret I might not have understood and/or it might not have made such an impact.

Probably because they sound like they don't know what they're talking about at all and it almost ridicules physics. Not everything is energy, obviously it is a variety of forces and space, no one can define energy so almost everything they're saying sounds ridiculous. It is true among the spiritual community those who have an insight it becomes for some an agenda. It is promoted as if it was THE total truth There are so many layers of the Law of attraction not the whole SECRET.. WHY Byrne left out this is worth exploring. Many teachers" have and are still doing the" my way is the only way." There are many paths to the WAY - the way of the heart. I am grateful to the Secret - But it is the "tip" of the iceberg. everyone is already practicing the laws, luckily some of us now know that we can delibrately practice the laws so that we can get what we want.
I've been delibrately practicing for almost a year now, the only thing I'm struggling with atm is that the people who don't get it (or the people who don't see the light) become jealous and try to get me down with them... sometimes they succeed at it
