stock vs stock the sti wins..but if you mod both cars retaining stock turbos on both evo wins..because evo 's stock turbo is much bigger than the stock sti's turbo..but you put the same size turbo on both sti wins due to displacement..and yes of course both with good drivers..

Both are great cars IMO. The Evos inline design responds better to mods though. Smaller piston and long strong works better then the large piston and short stroke the Subarus use to make the flat 4 fit in the engine bay. I drive a Subaru but they just seem to have a hard time keeping up with the Evo's mod for mod. It is close though

STi has horrible fuel economy, any subaru owner will tell you that. You're looking at about 22-23MPG vs the mustangs 30+. The new V6 mustang actually traps 1-2mph faster than the STi and ends up pulling away from it in the long haul.

It all depends on the driver. Take a consistent driver and the new 5.0 will beat the STi off the line in dry conditions. Both cars are hard to launch, but the 5.0 will pull away every time if done correctly.

Just a drop in intake filter, a catback exhaust, and mild tune on the Evo X will give it at least 80whp already. Install a Downpipe w/o a tune on the STI, and it will give a boost cut!!!

Also 19.5 PSI is stock boost on evo VIII and 14.5 is stock boost on a STI. If these cars were tuned I highly doubt they were stock boost.
