As far as comparisons go they have a Section 25 or Modern Eon vibe most definitely, at least this particular song does. This in no way diminishes how fantastic they are and are one of the few earlier bands form USA like this.

I think it's a mistake to compare For Against to any other band, even though the musicians themselves and their label are especially eager to do so.

However, I like the Skeletal Family/Xmal Deutschland comparison.

They were and are a very original band.

for against get likened to the brits a lot, but I think the jangly American guitar sound ala REM/Byrds is just as apparent. Really great unsung band from the states.

this is 1 of 2 vids on the december cd i believe, december is a classic, production is great and it's actually from the 80's and sounds like the chameleons and the sound and the overrated joy division.
