Crixus!! Crixus!! I was so happy when I saw Gods of the arena. I barely recalled Spartacus when I saw this one because of the former champion Gannicus!! And what's more I then realized that Crixus was a god guy and I saw his life before becoming a gladiator and now he's my favorite gladiator of all time!! Thanks to Andy getting his cancer or else Gods of the arena would never be born.

WRONG! this makes it seem like a gladiators life was glorious and glamorous. Most of them died quickly and brutally. They lived in appalling conditions, and were treated as slaves. If you lived long enough, you could earn your freedom, and then you would go back to your old life, your fame disappearing the moment you left the Colosseum. Nobles did not bang their servants (that's what they ahd wives for. Notice the plural.) Pregnant servants are needy, expensive servants.

Gods of the Arena has make an incredible job keeping the series to the same level as Blood and Sand, but 1 thing is to see a prequel with out Spartacus but with familiar faces like Batiatus and Lucretia, and another to see Spartacus character play as another actor who is not Andy Whitfield , i think the new Spartacus should make the fight scenes and the rest Andy could be just the face and voice!i Just can't imagine Spartacus season 2 with out Andy i just CAN'T!

I'm just a few episodes away from finishing Blood&Sand. i'll honestly say this is one of the BEST series i've ever seen. Amazing character development, great dialog, effects that don't take away from the story and great acting.

It's great to finally see the origins of Crixus, Barca and even Ashur! Seriously, i can't wait!
